Have there been other Gods, Apocalypses or Armageddons in the past?

Earth may be about 4.5 billion years old.

Mammals have roamed for 200 million years.

Dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago.

Humans that look like us have walked earth for 200,000yrs so far.

Intelligence (so to speak) for a fraction of that 200,000yrs.

Many believe in God or a higher power but no one has tangible proof. Belief systems have great diversity, but why?

Does anyone else see the common links?.

All of the unknowns about God or lack thereof have me thinking...

Have there have been other Gods, Apocalypses and Armageddons in the past?

Will we deny the possibility of such because we lack evidence?

(I used Wikipedia for the Earth time line.)

There still ARE other Gods and Goddesses, just as real as the Biblical God, and older than him. People still worship these Old Gods as well, and are just as serious and as moral - or moreso - as people who worship the biblical God are. Most cultures have legends about huge floods, but that doesn't mean that these huge floods were all at the same time. There have just been lots of huge floods. The Norse have a legend of Ragnarok ("Twilight of the Gods,") which includes major catastrophes and a great battle at the end of time in which many of their Gods die. Then there is to be a huge flood (there you go again), and after that, the world is reborn, all clean and pretty. I know people who still worship the Old Gods and Goddesses of the Norse (the spiritual path is called Asatru), and they're about the most noble, honourable, moral people you could know. I honour the old Gods of my people, the Celts. I don't know of an apocalyptic legend of my people; I guess we're not "end of the earth" sorts. I figure the earth will continue, and come back as it has done for billions of years, even if humans don't continue.

Of course there have been other gods and such...we all know about "greek mythology" and ancient egyption religion...they believed in different gods and had their own version on creation and many other things.

The Flood of Noah's day was certainly an apocalypse of a kind.

There have been over 375 other apocalypses reported all the way back into the B.C. era!
