I am trying to quit smoking cigarettes, any tips?
I have managed to cut down from 15 cigs a day to about 7 or 8. I am tired of the smell, health side effects and money it is costing me. I amwesring a pre quit patch which allows you to smoke so you grow to hate the taste. Once this part is over, I start on the normal patchjed when I have quit. I find is fairly easy not to smoke at work, but find I am starting to smoke more when I get home and during the evening. My fiance and all my friends smoke, so it is very hard when I am around people. Does any one have anytips for me please?

When you have a cigarette in your hand, think about all the consequences (bad) that you dont like about it.
The smell, the side effects, and the money you could be saving on a bunch of better things.
Think ahead and look at the consequences !
-Throw out all the packs you have and chew gum to let you know that you mouth is occupied and that it doesnt need a cigarette in it.
Stay away from them and you'll be down to not having any at all a day :)

I stopped after 25 years of smoking up to 4 packs a day. That was over 20 years ago. A guy on the local news had a program giving suggestions and I followed them, and in 30 days I was a non-smoker, and it wasn't so bad. 1. Have a plan, of when you are going to smoke. Set a date, and be prepared to do what it takes. 2. Change your habits for the times you usually smoked. I ALWAYS smoked after eating dinner, I changed and went outside and watered trees. 3. I did not use the patch, as that isn't much better than cutting back on your cigarettes, which doesn't work at all for more people. You simply won't ever stop completely, and will increase back up later, so why go through the hassle. Good luck, I hope you can stop, you'll never be sorry you did; although if you are like me, I still reach for a cig sometimes when I'm under stress, but I really am not tempted to smoke again. Thanks to the hassle of stopping, that makes you think twice before you want to start up again. ** oh, I treated myself to nice things with the money I saved, also. After 6 months was the first really nice car I ever had (a Caprice), but then after that I had Cads from then on. The payments were less than the cigarette bill.

Aww, good for you hun! Smoking does terrible damage to your lungs and what not, and can increase the chance of cancer. Consider those risks you are taking. But, its reasonable to understand because smoking is addicting. What you should do is stay committed! Keep your word, and persevere! Try to go without smoking for a day. If you get bored and have the urge to smoke, then find something to do. Just try to distract yourself from smoking, whenever needed. Good luck hun! :D

It is definitely very hard to quit. It could be good for you and your fiance to do this together.
Do you really want your fiance to continue smoking and die from cancer? Does your fiance want you to continue smoking and die from cancer? I think not! There are a million reasons to quit, and if you guys have kids... each of them become giant reasons to quit.
See a doctor (got insurance?) Ask for help. The new great drug is called Chantix. The older drug is called Zyban (or just generic welbutrin).
