Baked mac and cheese recipe?

So, I don't like using a roux in my mac and cheese because it gives it a funny flavor, so instead, I use cream and cornstarch to thicken it.. I love a lot of cheese, extra sharp cheddar and parmesan (usually) and it usually becomes an extremely thick consistency..

When I mix the macaroni in the sauce, it coats it nicely.. And then I'd put it in the oven for 10-15 minutes to brown the breadcrumbs on top and by the end of it, I've realized the mac and cheese becomes dry.. They don't clump together which makes it light, but I want that gooey cheesy feeling.. Am I doing something wrong?

Thin your sauce with more cream or milk. The pasta itself absorbs the moisture - whether or not you put it into the oven. So have your sauce thinner than you might think so it stays gooey and you'll love it!

I know this isn't what you want to know, but here's how I make mac and cheese:

    Prepare the macaroni

    Saute chopped onions

Add chopped pieces of bacon and fry until brown

Add green pepper, red pepper and/or yellow pepper

    Add mushrooms

    Add chopped tomato

You can also taste with salt, pepper and/or garlic

Then I put the macaroni in the baking dish, pour in white sauce (the ones you make from packet by just adding water) , pour the ingredients over the macaroni, cover with cheese, and grill in oven until cheese is golden brown.

    It's DELICIOUS!

Add about a quarter cup of milk to it and that will make it a bit runnier and for that ooey gooey cheesy delicious hmmmmmm sorry getting off-trak lol,try adding a handful of grated cheese to the top of casserole before you add the breadcrumbs.
