When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

While I'm not sure 13 year ODsare up for the scientific answers. The basic thing is that if you move your body, it will begin to burn fat.
Play an active team sport. Track, softball, soccer, basketball, cross country, ice/roller hockey etc. Something that requires scheduled team practice and competition. The point of this is, you don't have to be the best at the sport, but the participation will eexerciseyour body. You may find that you can really excel at the sport once your body is trained to carry its own weight.
The added activity will make you want to eat more, don't worry about that. Just make sure you eat right (fruits over candy), and continue to exercise, before you know it the weight will fall off. You will notice from the complements you will receive unsolicited from your friends and others.
Good luck

I know many people who had the same problem, since they were young, since your only 13 don't go too extreme your only young and your body will shapen it way out, the best way is to just eat healthier and do sports.
Lessen your intake of junk food, eat more fruit and vegetables, do regular excercise like walk around or jog, join a sports activity like soccer or swimming. but be patient, these results will take a while, don't expect to see the diffrence 1 day later, it will show gradually.

Hello there! I've just been onto this website:
http://kidshealth.org/parent/food/weight/bmi_chart...
I entered your height, weight and age and it says that your BMI is 23.2. This puts you on the 88th percentile, meaning that 88% of children your age have a BMI lower than you, and 12% of children your age have a BMI higher than you. For an adult, a BMI of 23.2 would be towards the higher end of the healthy range. But because of your age, the website actually says you're a bit overweight, and that the healthy weight range for you is 84lb to 123lb (38kg to 56kg). So it's probably a good idea to lose a bit of weight. Well done for making this decision!
If you're unfit, it's best not to rush into lots of exercise too quickly as you could injure yourself. You could start out by simply going for brisk walks. Try walking for around an hour each time, maybe 3 times a week or so at first, then maybe you could build it up to 5 times a week or something like that. I love walking and I try and do it as often as possible. Even just small things like taking the stairs instead of the lift would be great. Every little bit counts.
I really strongly suggest you try running. I currently run for 30 minutes, 5 times a week and this helps keep me really fit and trim. Maybe you could try this? If you're very out of shape and haven't exercised for a while, then you should start out slowly and gradually build up the length of your runs. Here is a beginners running plan I found on the Runners World website:

I also think cycling is a great way to get fit. I love cycling and try and do it as often as possible. Try and incorporate cycling into your routine. Cycling up hills is especially beneficial and you can really feel the calories burning off. I probably do around an hour of cycling every other day, maybe 3 times a week.
I have a tendency to store fat around my middle, which is really annoying. If I ever gain weight it all goes straight to my stomach. So I like to do crunches to tone up my stomach area. I do a maximum of 300 crunches each day, in 3 sets of 100. They actually do work and I can feel the difference immediately after doing them. Again if you're unfit you'll probably only be able to do a few at first, but as you get used to them and do them more often, you'll be able to do lots at a time. To begin with maybe you could try about 20 at a time and then gradually work your way up to more. Here is quite a good video on how to do crunches:

As for your diet, make sure you are eating foods like fresh fruit and vegetables, high fibre foods like whole grain cereals, wholemeal bread, wholemeal pasta and brown rice, low fat or fat free dairy products, lean meat and fish. It is important not to cut out any food group entirely, especially at your young age, as it could hinder your development. But when you do eat fat try and make sure it is healthy fats, for example found in nuts and seeds. Be careful with portion sizes as well.
I would say to try and consume around 1,500 calories each day, along with doing plenty of exercise. If you're really serious about losing the weight and you're committed to it, you could possibly shed the 10lb in around 3 or 4 weeks. But afterwards make sure you continue eating healthily and exercising regularly otherwise the weight could all pile back on before you know it.
I wish you the best of luck and I hope I was helpful to you! x :)
