"Because I Am Only Human" - Are you always going to use this as your excuse for NOT following scripture?

I'm not saying that this is directed at you personally but -

IMAGINE THIS -

1. The cashier at the grocery store gives you back too much change and - YOU KEEP IT - knowing full well that it's theft.

2. You tell the cashier at the Golden Corral that your 16 year old kid is 12, just so you don't have to pay full price.

3. You say you follow the "lords word" - but - you've never read the bible cover to cover - or asked questions about it.

4. You go to Sunday Service and after wards gossip about others in your group.

5. You take credit for another's hard work in front of your boss.

6. You tell your children the Santa Claus, Easter Bunny lies and get angry when someone else tells them the truth.

HOW do you justify this in front of God?

Why do you say "I'm only human" or "Everybody sins" instead of living a righteous life and then cast dispersion(s) on others who do not "believe"?

    Hi,

    Well, all valid questions.

You see, in all religions, there are people who read the scripture and then there are people who live by scripture. The kind of people you mentioned can fool others and even themselves. But they can never fool God, who knows the wheat from the chaff.

Allow me to direct you to a resource:

    http://www.bible-topics.com/Hypocrites.html

Now, it is important that you read the entire page (it is not very long). Most answers can be found on there. This is how God feels about such people.

All in all, the way God wants us to live is very hard on this Earth that is ruled by evil.

So it is way better to be an unbeliever that to be a half - hearted believer and bring shame upon the religion.

    Thanks and bye.

How did you reach perfection? I'm still trying. I am only human. It is a fact, not an excuse. I strive daily to live by Jesus teaching, but yes I fail. and then I ask for forgiveness.

Because fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom, God knew we wouldnt be able to follow his laws and commands so as it says in the bible, The laws and commands were put there to lead us to Christ. The laws (as it says in scripture) where there to show us that we indeed need a savior to free us from sin and the law that holds us captive. We are justified by faith in Christ Jesus, knowing full well he is our Lord and only savior. Gods grace, only are we saved and are justified freely by putting all our faith in Jesus. We dont work for this great gift, nor do we claim to have earned this great gift because it is given.

It says in the bible "all has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God".Therefore we need to free ourselves from all doubts and submit to God in repentence because we are sinners and do not deserve anything from him. In all fact we will see God face to face when we die, and we will have no excuse of what we have done, because we had the opportunity to except Gods free gift of salvation. The penalty for sin is death but life in Christ.

No one can live a righteous life unless they are truly born again, having the holy spirit in them. When we read Gods word it allows him to enter in us because his word is Godbreathed. Our spirit feeds on his word and lives according to his word while gaining much knowledge of God.

The more we know God the more we want to live in obedience to him in love and out of respect (to fear him). Gods idea is to transform us into Christ-likeness while burning the impurities in us so we can offer to God our bodies as a living sacrifice to him so he can use us for righteousness. No one can get to God unless they are in Christ.

    (John 14:6)

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

    Hosea 4:6 (New Living Translation)

6 "My people are being destroyed

    because they don’t know me.

Since you priests refuse to know me,

I refuse to recognize you as my priests.

Since you have forgotten the laws of your God,

I will forget to bless your children."

Grace - Divine love and protection bestowed freely on people. The state of being protected or sanctified by the favor of God.

Justified - To free (a human) of the guilt and penalty attached to grievous sin. Used of God.

    Revelation 3:20 (New Living Translation)

20 “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.

No, my excuse for not following scripture is I find scripture to be absolute rubbish.

Your theory has one little flaw in it: I don't do any of those things.

But when I wasn't a Christian or rather a Christian in words, I didn't know any better.

  • 1 decade ago

No, its not always my excuse.

In fact, I don't have anyone asking me, so who would know, God?

But the human excuse is a truth, so you can use it sparingly. ;)

It is our right and our choice.

(Not without human derived consequences, though. think about it)
