Family comes first. The rest I'll take with a grain of salt.
Are you saying it's okay to slaughter anyone who does not "believe in God"?
Judging by the majority of answers received to a previous question - I get the impression that it is perfectly fine to kill, maim, steal from and cause grievous harm to any one or any group of people who do not believe in "God" the same way readers of the bible do.
I don't understand this form of thinking.
Could somebody please explain to me why this is a morally proper course to take?
**** The other question (so you know what I'm referring to.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDoes this sound like a GOD of Peace, Forgiveness and love?
Why would you put your faith and heart into "someone" so base and vulgar?
"Someone" who created greed, sin, violence and discord?
A "God" who encourages theft, violence and murder?
BEFORE - you bring Satan into the picture and try to blame everything on him.... Remember - WHO created Satan.
Deuteronomy 21:18-21
"Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree:
And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place."
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy be rude to a kid who needs help?
I was astounded when I read some of the responses to this question.
The kid is just asking for a little help.
Why be rude?
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoReligion is a multi-billion dollar industry - Why aren't ALL bibles free?
Did Jesus charge money for spreading the "word of God"?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoJust a little test of your "bible knowledge". There were a total of 14 Apostles - name them.?
Also - if you care to state your faith - I would appreciate it.
I'm an atheist and have read the bible many times over.
Every time I ask a question about "faith" - invariably I will get someone who say's "Have you ever even read the bible?"
Well - show me how well you know it.
COPYING AND PASTING = automatic disqualification.
It's really easy to spot - so please give a HONEST answer concerning your personal knowledge.
Thank you.
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoOkay R&Ser's - answer this - I asked a question 3 hours ago that got me another warning - WHY?
My question was -
"Do you understand WHY christianity is questioned by atheists?"
What is sooooo bad about that/this question - why would someone hit the "report abuse" button?
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade ago"Because I Am Only Human" - Are you always going to use this as your excuse for NOT following scripture?
I'm not saying that this is directed at you personally but -
IMAGINE THIS -
1. The cashier at the grocery store gives you back too much change and - YOU KEEP IT - knowing full well that it's theft.
2. You tell the cashier at the Golden Corral that your 16 year old kid is 12, just so you don't have to pay full price.
3. You say you follow the "lords word" - but - you've never read the bible cover to cover - or asked questions about it.
4. You go to Sunday Service and after wards gossip about others in your group.
5. You take credit for another's hard work in front of your boss.
6. You tell your children the Santa Claus, Easter Bunny lies and get angry when someone else tells them the truth.
HOW do you justify this in front of God?
Why do you say "I'm only human" or "Everybody sins" instead of living a righteous life and then cast dispersion(s) on others who do not "believe"?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDo you fear Death - No matter what your religious affiliations are - What do YOU THINK about Death?
Every human being has some sort of view on death regardless of their belief or non belief system.
Do you fear it?
**If so - why?
Do you NOT fear it?
**If not - why?
I am not asking what "god" says about death.
I am not asking what "logic" says about death.
I am asking what YOU have to say about death.
40 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoOne more time - because I still don't understand - Why do "christians" believe Catholicism is not christianity?
If both group of believers think Christ was the messiah and both groups believe in God -
the 10 commandments -
the bible - etc. -
Then what is it in a "Christians" mind/view/belief that says Catholics are not Christians?
Catholics - do you feel you are christian?
If not - why?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs the "1st" G.Bush being honest with us here?
BOSTON (AP) - The elder President George Bush will not be attending Sen. Edward Kennedy's funeral.
A spokesman for Bush said Friday that he and his wife, Barbara, decided not to attend Kennedy's funeral after learning their son, former President George W. Bush, would attend.
Jim McGrath says the 85-year-old Bush feels his son's presence would "amply and well represent" the family Saturday.
This seems a little disrespectful toward Sen. Kennedy and his family.
It also seems like a pretty flimsy excuse -
but then again -
Old George is getting along in years - Maybe he's just not up to it.
What do you think?
19 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoI've been trying for over an hour to choose "Best Answer" for my questions - But the wrong screen comes up?
Every time I pull up the question/answer that I pick for best - I get an "OOPS" page that instructs me to
A. Go back to the question
B. Go to profile page
C. I forget what "c" is.
What is going on now and are you having the same problem?
8 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoAre these people saying that you don't have to follow gods laws to get into heaven?
Christianity is confusing.
Some folks say all you have to do is ask Jesus for forgiveness.
Others say - it doesn't matter how bad you are - as long as you "believe" you'll be forgiven anything.
The answers I got to this question proves that -
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgKV9...
Did Jesus's death on the cross automatically absolve everyone of sin?
If so - what does it matter what anyone believes - everyone is going to heaven.
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoLet's say you are "born again" - washed in the "blood of Jesus" - given your "life to the Lord - Whatever?
If you die in the middle of a sin - say, a small lie - before you ask Jesus to forgive you of that sin - do you still get into Heaven?
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoEye for an eye - tooth for a tooth ......What's the rest of the passage and what does it mean?
I hear this ALL the time where I live - but few people recite the whole passage.
Do you know it and do you know what it means?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAre the 7 deadly sins still valid?
Someone answered my other question by telling me the 7 deadly sins are of no importance because they were OT.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AvNBx...
Do you feel that way and if you do - why?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoOkay - One of my answerer's told me "Uhh correctly "thou shalt not "murder". Get it right then try again." SO-?
One of the 10 commandments is "Thou shalt not MURDER".
When god flooded the Earth and effectively wiped out humanity - by drowning not only "sinners" but innocent children and infants - was he not committing MURDER?
