I even doubt about their Smartness .

when family isn't there to teach them what is good for them and what's not , they can't be polite more than this .

    80s are the best :-DDDD

I have no idea but you are right something is wrong with kids and parents today. Thank god I don't have a pool but I know kids come in my back yard all the time. My husband has a truck and a bunch of other non kid friendly stuff in the backyard and there has been a few times when I have caught weird kids from the neighboorhood I don't know playing on it and I had to say something. Where are the parents? I would never let my kids run around unsupervised...let alone knock on some neighboors door without my knowledge or permission. what if the neighbor happened to be a pedophile? people are crazy and uncouth these days, seriously. i get where you are coming from.

The people who raised them and the way they raised them affect the kid quite a lot. Also other factors, like the people around them, where they live and so and so. You can't just catagorise them as all bad or as all good-I know plenty of adolescents and pre-adolescents that are lovely c: also, mental disorders and their past can effect someone significantly-whether they're young or old, and there has been a huge rise in depression and anxiety in teens which can largely affect the way they behave.

They're experiencing a new world --you can never compare the world before and after 2000. They're exposed to a wider globe and new ways of experiencing and being in touch with their surroundings. The way they're brought up is totally different, and that's why they seem smarter (they're living in a smarter and more complicated world). And since it's a whole new game for human in general, we may experience loads of disorders yet.

Like 50s and 60s kids were a social problem! Generations change as the world changes and every change needs time to settle down.

Young people have not changed. They are the same as they were thousands of years ago.

Socrates have been known for saying how the young people of his time lacked morals, and newer generations needed serious teaching in respect. That was 2400 years ago.

Aristotle once said "Young people are in a condition like permanent intoxication, because youth is sweet and they are growing."

In other words, young people are the same as they always have been. Nothing has changed. I think it is just our minds that make us think that kids in the 90s and 80s were more polite, but in the end nothing has really changed.

I agree, even though I am 15, I have manners and I am polite to people who I might accidently bump into on the street etc. Thats the way I have been brought up. I think the parents are just letting their kids take control of everything and give into their demands for things they want. So they are going to think they can get their way in life in any circumstances- which is really pathetic, basically they are just immature!

I believe the problem is with the children born in 70s and 80s; after all these are parents who teach children to be polite. I blame the parents. Secondly, I blame the society which again should be blamed on the parents of all of us. All parents have parents.

Depends on their family and genetics probably... My brother was born in 2000 and is pretty polite. I am 15 years old and I hope that nothing is wrong with me too!!

Teens don't change. They rebel. They will hopefully realize their behavior is not tolerated in the real world.

In my opinion, today's kids are as dumb as in history. They're all taught they are "special" and are coddled. The speak in text messaging language. None of them can spell worth a crap, either. Spelling is not hard, but these kids find very creative ways to screw it up. I don't blame them, though. I blame their parents.
