Young male cat poops on the basement floor.?

We have two cats, an older female and a younger male. We keep the cats in the basement at night where their food, water and cat boxes are all kept. There are 4 boxes so they don't have to even share, however, our young male cat poops on the cement floor every night. What can we do to make him stop? He is fixed, healthy, and otherwise a great cat. Any ideas would help. I don't believe in just sending him to someone else so don't suggest that.

Its probably territorial, see if theres a specific place on the floor he likes to poo on and try moving the litter box there. if not there are sprays available that discourage that kind of behavior, just spray it where you need it.

try scooping them on a daily basis. he's in all probability rebelling over the actuality that he's having to proportion his litterboxes with a clean cat, and would not opt to bypass the place he smells the different cat. After some weeks of scooping on a daily basis issues'll in all probability bypass back to commonplace.
