Is it alright to write an e-mail asking about the status of an application/Interview.?
About two and half weeks ago I interviewed with a prestigious corporation for an accounting internship. ( This is an industry not a public accounting firm.) I sent a thank you e-mail to the firm right after the interview and got a response to that e-mail 3 business days later. The E-mail informed me I would be hearing from them soon. A week later they sent me an e-mail asking me to fill out an online application. It has been a week since then. My question is if it would be acceptable to send a polite e-mail inquiring about the status of my application. In addition to their where several other students at my school who also interviewed for an internship and have not heard anything back except for the e-mail about the application. I would like some insight from both recruiters as well as others going through the recruiting process

That is a good idea, and enough time has elapsed. My suggestion is to word the email as if you are reminding them of your interest in the position, and not a "have I got the job yet" type of thing..........hope you get it :]

it may additionally be a woman co-worker. Its time for you to be the bigger guy. If she is incredibly doing something gruesome you have caught her redhanded.
