Yes, you can take milk. They will shine a light through it and test it. I took my 14 month old daughter, and the security guy in Salt Lake told me they were ok with drinks for babies until they could get a drink out of the drinking fountain. Although you can just take an empty sippy cup and buy milk or juice on the other side of security if yo uare worried. Snacks are usually fine...it's the liquid that worries them. And you will definitely want some snacks or something for her to suck on for takeoff and landing.

You might also want a small amount of child's Benadryl and Tylenol in your carry on. Ask your doctor what the appropriate doses are for your child. The Benadryl works if your child gets overly tired and won't calm down, and if your child gets a fever or headache on the plane, the tylenol can help with that.

Also, take things to do. Maybe buy her one new toy, and don't let her play with it except on the plane. You might also want a new book, some special treat, and something to color or draw on.

Also, take your stroller and gate check it. That way you can have it right up to the gate and then they will bring it back to the gate when you arrive in NYC. It is so much easier to take a toddler through the airport strapped into a stroller, since you will also be dealing with a carry on and then luggage.

Also, make sure you take your daughter's birth certificate so yo ucan prove you are the parent and that she is under 2. (So she can be a lap rider.)

Oh, and look up the policy on baby items on the plane. I know southwest counts 2 baby items as one piece of luggage, and they don't count the stroller toward the luggage count at all. That really helped when we were trying to get across country to a funeral, and had to take our pack n play and car seat. And please take your own car seat or borrow one from a trustworthy friend. I made the mistake of renting one with a rental car, and it was completely subpar.

    Have so much fun!

You can take Breast Milk through wiht no problem, anything else has a chance of being thrown out. At times I have gotten through with a full sippy cup of juice, others they make me dump it out.

Bring lots of snacks! Bring exciting snacks that your daughter has never had as well as some of her favorites. If she still sucks a paci bring that along for her ears during takeoff and landing. Otherwise be sure to have her snacking on something and drinking something during take off and landing so that her ears will not hurt.

Also bring new small toys she has never seen: plastic slinky, crayons(non-roll), coloring book, books, etc. A great place to find little cheap toys would be the $1 Spot at Target or the dollar store. Keep in mind you do not want things that can injure her or others if they are thrown. Don't get anything that rolls as they will be lost for sure. Also nothing to loud to annoy other passengers.

    Good Luck!!

Iv flown a lot with my daughter (she is now 2). You can take a liquid as long as its in her cup. You wont be able to take snacks..btu they do sell chips, cookies, crackers, and other snacks on the plane. not to healthy but will DEF. help keep them quiete.

I let my daughter help pack her bag. I give her choices of what she wants to take, like a baby doll, a blanket, a book. To avoid some problems and those awful stares, try to leave the noise makers @ home. BLOCKS BAD IDEA!! did that once and ended up with very angry passengers...the baby doll always is the best for us, because she gets to take care of the baby. I let her take pictures out the window, listen to my ipod, and talk to her ALOT.

Make sure you bring another outfitt on the plane. and a cup that is soft like a bottle, maybe the kind with the soft straw, the sucking is good for take off and landing, helps her ears pop = less tears.

    GOOD LUCK!!

optimistically by using fact it particularly is an afternoon flight he will take a snooze, yet whilst that would not happend i might have some new toys reachable. in the past we left on are flight I went a picked out some new toys and books for are daughter. New stuff retains them distracted for longer. additionally convey a impressive form of snacks and drinks. It sounds undesirable yet foodstuff does wonders with cranky infants. i would not supply your baby benedrel or different drugs to assist them sleep. some infants do no longer react nicely to it at that youthful of an age. it particularly is uncommon, yet on a plane isn't a place you decide on him to have a bad reaction. additionally wait till the final minute to get on the plane there is not any rationalization why you may get on first for the curtesy boarding. Use that factor to permit him run around have burn off capability. additionally as quickly as you're on the plane permit him run up and down the asiles till they're waiting for take off. The flight attendents had no problems letting us try this. We flew direct one way and with one cease on the some time past. i got here across having the lay over became honestly extra helpful. It broke up the time whilst she had to be sitting down. during the layover we grabed a bite to consume and performed. It became lots extra managible than 2.5 hours promptly on the way there. If all else fails, in basic terms attempt to calm him as maximum suitable you could, aplogize to the people around you and relax, you tried your maximum suitable. besides it particularly is unlike you're ever going to work out those people returned. it is a factor of the threat of flying. i comprehend all of us is going hate to pay attention that yet it is the fact.
