Do you automatically lose baby weight when baby is born?
When you have your baby, you automatically lose the weight from the baby which is 7lbs or so plus the placenta weight and fluid weight etc... so if you didn't gain any weight over the weight from what the baby weighed and all the other baby stuff you should be back to your normal size shortly after right? I know your belly stays round for a few days...

I weigh myself after giving birth due to curiosity and I lose 6-9kgs (13-19lbs) as soon as baby is out.
With my first and second I gained 15kgs (33lbs) so after losing 9kgs (19lbs) straight after delivery, I only had 6kgs (13lbs) of pregnancy weight left. Which with my first I lost in the first week and with my second took me 2 weeks.
With my third I only gained 2kgs (4lbs) during the whole pregnancy so as soon as he was born I was smaller than my pregnancy weight. With him I only lost 6kgs (13lbs) after delivery.
And yes your stomach does not shrink back down to normal immediately, it took many months to stretch enough to accommodate the baby so does take a while to shrink back down.
Thankfully due to breastfeeding my uterus shrinks back down in a day or two and my stomach takes about a month or more to lose the jelly like effect that it has after giving birth.

The best thing to do is simply exercise and eat correctly on the days you can. I am over weight but have recently lost 20lbs just by following those to simple things. I know it can get hard, but don't give up! Breakfast is of course the most important meal of the day so DO NOT skip it. Actually, studies show that eating breakfast can help you lose weight in the process of weight loss. If you must skip a meal make it dinner. Also don't eat after 8 or 8:30 pm. Exercise is also important. The days you CAN exercise make sure its at least a good hour (cardio can be for 30 mins). Good luck && I hope I helped!

It really all depends on your skin and genetics. Some women are practically back to their pre-pregnancy body a couple weeks after giving birth, and for some it can take years to work off that baby weight. And for some their body will never be the same again. At the end of the day though, you brought a beautiful baby in to the world, and that's what matters most :)

Most women will gain between 25-35 pounds which is normal and healthy for being pregnant. When you have your baby, you will lose half of this right away..as you mentioned by the baby being born, the amniotic fluid, the placenta and the uterus shrinking back to size. So you will go home weighing less, but would still go home in your mid pregnancy maternity clothes. I am usually back into my regular clothes before I go back to work at 8 weeks out.

lol not for me. i didnt lose any weight after my son was born. literally NONE. i weighed the same after he was born. im just now slowly getting there, and he is 19 mo. old. but every body is different it depends on your body. i have a friend who had her baby a week or so apart from mine and just now is like 10 lbs from her prebaby weight and shes been exercising and running marathons. soo just depends its rough on your body it really is.. but i read your other question and if you exercise and eat really healthy and breast feed you can lose that weight before your wedding in august. dont stress about it you just have to wait and see when the baby is born and as soon as you feel up to it start walking the baby in the stroller around the block, go to the gym, or do your own workout at home. and EAT HEALTHY. good luck and congrats on everything!

well I gained about 25 lbs with my son and I think alot of it was water weight I was retaining bc of preclampsia. After I had my son you couldn't tell I had a baby just two days ago, unless you looked at how flabby and stretched my skin was (the muscles get stretched out - that takes awhile to put bck together). So for some yes it does happen, it generally won' t be the same, hips get wider usually and stuff like that, but yes it can happen.

Well all women are different... but let me say that MAJORITY have their belly for more than a "few days". Some women may go back to their pre-pregnancy size within weeks of having their baby, but some women might take years to get the weight off. My belly didn't go down entirely for about 3 months. Keep in mind that it takes about 6 weeks for your uterus to contract completely. I gained 40lbs in my pregnancy, and I exercised my entire pregnancy and ate healthy.
Immediately after I had my daughter, I lost about 15lbs.
Within two weeks of having her, I had lost a total of 30lbs. So "water weight" will melt off within a few weeks of having your baby too. I had ALOT of water retention.
However, I still have 8lbs to lose which must be that "extra fat" that I gained while pregnant. If you don't gain anymore than about 15-20lbs then you will definitely go back to your old weight... but sometimes, no matter what you do... you still gain a little bit of "fat".
Don't be disappointed if it takes a little while, but just remember it's TOTALLY worth it!
Good Luck~

i wish. No you still ahve some weight to lose afterwards. it could take a month or two or a few years who knows and most of the weight is gained in the last part of pregnancy. they say avg is 25-30 but that doesn't mena anything. your body will deide hwo much your gonna gain mno matter how healthy you eat or don't.

After I gave birth to my son, I lost all the weight I had gained during my pregnancy. So I was back at my pre-pregnancy weight, but I wasn't at my pre-pregnancy size because the uterus was still enlarged. After about 3 weeks, I was back at my pre-pregnancy size. So it does take a little bit. It won't happen overnight but within a few weeks-months you can be back at your pre-pregnancy size and shape. Hope this helps

LMAO, no. I actually weighed the same as I went in---had to have antibiotics flushed in my system b/c the baby pooped before he was born (typical if the baby is late). It is not just going to fall off unless you have a zippy metabolism and have always been naturally skinny. You will need to exercise to lose the tummy and it takes time
