Christians: According to the words of Jesus Christ, are we trying to come to him or his Father?

John 14:6 (King James Version)

6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

New Jerusalem Bible John 14:6

6 Jesus said: I am the Way; I am Truth and Life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

Is he the way to himself or the way to his father? Simple question.

Jesus’ Vital Place in God’s Purpose. We need to help people appreciate that since Jesus is “the way” and ‘no one comes to the Father except through him,’ it is impossible to have an approved relationship with God without faith in Jesus Christ. (John 14:6) Unless a person realizes the vital role that Jehovah has assigned to his firstborn Son, it is impossible to understand the Bible. Why? Because Jehovah made this Son the key figure in the outworking of all His purposes. (Col. 1:17-20) Bible prophecy revolves around this fact. (Rev. 19:10) Jesus Christ is the one through whom the solution is provided for all the problems raised by Satan’s rebellion and the sin of Adam.—Heb. 2:5-9, 14, 15

I have quoted these verses for easy reference.

(John 14:6) Jesus said to him: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

(Colossians 1:17-20) Also, he is before all [other] things and by means of him all [other] things were made to exist, 18 and he is the head of the body, the congregation. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that he might become the one who is first in all things; 19 because [God] saw good for all fullness to dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile again to himself all [other] things by making peace through the blood [he shed] on the torture stake, no matter whether they are the things upon the earth or the things in the heavens.

(Revelation 19:10) At that I fell down before his feet to worship him. But he tells me: “Be careful! Do not do that! All I am is a fellow slave of you and of your brothers who have the work of witnessing to Jesus. Worship God; for the bearing witness to Jesus is what inspires prophesying.”

(Hebrews 2:5-9) For it is not to angels that he has subjected the inhabited earth to come, about which we are speaking. 6 But a certain witness has given proof somewhere, saying: “What is man that you keep him in mind, or [the] son of man that you take care of him? 7 You made him a little lower than angels; with glory and honor you crowned him, and appointed him over the works of your hands. 8 All things you subjected under his feet.” For in that he subjected all things to him [God] left nothing that is not subject to him. Now, though, we do not yet see all things in subjection to him; 9 but we behold Jesus, who has been made a little lower than angels, crowned with glory and honor for having suffered death, that he by God’s undeserved kindness might taste death for every [man].

(Hebrews 2:14-15) Therefore, since the “young children” are sharers of blood and flesh, he also similarly partook of the same things, that through his death he might bring to nothing the one having the means to cause death, that is, the Devil; 15 and [that] he might emancipate all those who for fear of death were subject to slavery all through their lives.

As John 14:6 states it is clear that Christ states that only he is the truth, the light, and the way.

Only through Christ are we able to come to the Father.

In prayer it is always ended with "In Jesus Christ's name we pray" as a way for our prayers to get to the Father so Christ is not stating he is the way to himself but he is the way to God.

God sent His Only Son to die for our sins and for that his blood was shed at the crucifixion. It stands behind the whole symbolism of why we take part in communion as the bread represents the bones of Christ and the Juice (wine) represents the blood of Christ which Christ himself showed to his disciples on the Last Supper knowing he would be put to death and who betrayed him.

Only through Christ can you find God.

To His Father. The scriptures conclude that Jesus is the Son of God, not God; that fable was invented in the third century by doubting overseers. The problem with the wise and prudent (i.e. scholastic achievers) is that they always seek after recognition, which is why they invented things like teaching that Jesus is God; but this is why Jesus said that the truth is hid from them (Mat 11:25) because they think beyond that which is written, which is exaggeration, and over-estimation, rather than simply believing God´s Word, and obeying it, as do the babes.

We come to our Heavenly Father, Jehovah, through his son.

"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus, who gave himself a corresponding ransom for all."—1 Timothy 2:5, 6.

God's son, Jesus, became a ransom that compensated exactly for what Adam lost—the right to perfect human life on earth. So Jesus could rightly be called "the last Adam" by the apostle Paul, who said: "Just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive." (1 Corinthians 15:22, 45) The perfect human life of Jesus was the "corresponding ransom" required by divine justice.

The only way to have a relationship with God is through Jesus.

Its exactly as it says, Jesus is the way , our way, to the Father Jehovah. It was because that he died for our sins that made it even possible for us to aproach Jehovah whom the Bible tells us is HOLY.

"by means of (Jesus) whom we have this freeness of speech and an approach with confidence through our faith in him" (Ephesians 3:12)

(1 Timothy 2:5) For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus,

And how about this one? (1 John 2:1)

My LITTLE children, these things write I unto you, that ye not sin. And if any man sin, we have and advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous....(KJV)

Me DEAR children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense- Jesus Christ, the Righteous ONE. (New International)

My little children, I am writing YOU these things that YOU may not commit a sin. And yet, if anyone does commit a sin, we have a helper with the Father, Jesus Christ, a righteous one. (NWT)

Jesus is the only way to the Father.

He is the way to the father.

This is just one of many scriptures to prove that the bible doesn't support the Trinity Doctrine at all.

All it takes is for persons to have sound reasoning when reading the bible in it's entirety.

    Best regards.

sounds like the way to his father. In John he says he does not speak of his own originality but what he hears from the father.
