How do we keep from becoming the things we claim to hate?

Great Question! How Indeed?

His Word ALONE is ABLE to KEEP US from STUMBLING...IF WE HOLD FAST to the Confidence that we have already placed in the ROCK of our Salvation.

"For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that HE IS ABLE TO KEEP that which I have committed unto him against that day. Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. That good thing which was committed unto thee KEEP BY THE HOLY GHOST WHICH DWELLS IN US." 2 Timothy 1:12-14

Also very important is to BE DOERS of the WORD and NOT HEARERS ONLY, deceiving ourselves...(He surely won't FORCE us to do his WORD...But HE SURE WILL HELP US TO if we commit childlike TRUST in HIM as unto Faithful Father :)

Jude 1:20-25, "But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, KEEP YOURSELVES IN THE LOVE OF GOD, LOOKING FOR THE MERCY of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. NOW UNTO HIM that is ABLE TO KEEP YOU FROM FALLING, and TO PRESENT YOU FAULTLESS before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen."

The more confidence in HIM that we PLACE through prayer and supplication and Praise of how Faithful and TRUE HE IS, the More we will CONTINUE IN HIS LOVE.

Also of great importance is the FEAR of the LORD, for which there is simply no way around...it is the Beginning entrance into Wisdom from Above....

, "I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions. THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS TO HATE EVIL: PRIDE, and ARROGANCY, and THE EVIL WAY, and THE FROWARD MOUTH, DO I HATE. Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength. By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth. I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me." Proverbs 8:12-17

When Wisdom moves into our hearts to stay...we will LOVE GOOD and Righteousness, and Hate the very things that Wisdom herself HATES... Wisdom LOVES them that LOVE HER...and those who seek her EARLY shall FIND HER...

"Say unto wisdom, THOU ART MY SISTER; and CALL UNDERSTANDING THINE KINSWOMAN: That THEY MAY KEEP THEE from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words." Proverbs 7:4-5

Wisdom and Understanding (seen above) WILL KEEP THEE!

By keeping our eyes on the Lord and not fulfilling the lusts of our flesh

stop finding the bad things about yourself..

find the good things and you will not become the thing you hate..
