hubby just called. Won't have dinner with me because he's stressed...?
I'm 35 weeks pregnant. He just called saying he didn't have a lunch break at work, that he is under a lot of stress and needs to be by himself... He wont have dinner with me. this is the first time he has done something like this. I didn't complain, I just said, oh ok. I'm not even sad about it. it's just that it came out of nowhere that I have nothing to say I got my maternity leave and pretty much starts today so maybe this is one the things that he's stressed about lol What should I say tonight when he comes back home?
thank you

Maybe he has just had one of those days, we all have had them. I would suggest simply asking him how things are? Did your day get better? Sorry you had such a bad day honey! I wouldn't worry unless it continued....

"Hubby", the way you use it, usually means you've got a good man. Can we start with that?
You have big, big emotional needs and next-minute potential physical ones. It's wrong for him to be away from you when he doesn't have to at 35 weeks.
But there is no substitute for thought-processing time, a short break to be yourself. It's still wrong for him to have dumped you for an evening at 35 weeks, but moms and dads need that time alone. You've got a lot of love to give for the next 20-60 years depending on the needs of your kids and each other. You'll notice how short tempers can get without some peace and space every so often. Your child is already there in terms of their needs and emotional impact on your relationship. In a really big way.
He can still be a good man and need to decompress. His timing is not great. Some obligations you can't just run out on. But this is the first time? Text him that you're watching a Chippendale's DVD and thinking of him. It's a pretty sure bet that's more attractive to him than whatever he's doing at the time. There really is no place like home for having a good time.
