Whats the best moderately priced canned food for kittens?
I'm getting a new kitten in about a week and I'm trying to decide on a quality canned food that won't break the bank. I've done some research and the brands like Wellness, Felidae, and Avoderm seem to be the best, but they're a little out of my price range.
Does anyone know about the quality of Purina Pro Plan Select? Or any other good KITTEN food?

Great job for using wet food! Dry food causes diabetes in cats

My cats use Authority canned food. We get it from PetSmart because it comes in large sized and small sized cans. We get large cans and we get the boxes, but don't get the boxes until your cat decides on a favorite flavor. You don't want to waste money on cat food she wont eat. But we use Authority because other canned foods mostly come in small can sizes. I'm not really sure on nutrition/portion sizes for kittens, but for my older cats, they get 1/3 of the large sized can in the morning and 1/3 at night. Be sure to refrigerate any leftover food immediately, as it spoils easily. Allow the cat food to sit and thaw a little (maybe about 5 minutes) because my cats hate cold food.
Congrats and good luck! :D Hope you get a shelter kitten! They are forever grateful and always loving!

Fresh Step litter is fine. I have had many cats and Purina is also just fine. A lot of people will try to convince you to buy more expensive food, but I do not believe that. I have always fed my cats Purina Cat Chow without problem. I do suggest, however, that you feed canned food as the main meal and leave kibble in a bowl for the cat to graze on. Wet food is much better for a cat as it is closer to a cat's natural food (mice) and precludes health issues. Friskies or 9 Lives is an adequate canned food. Wellness and Blue Buffalo are highly rated, but expensive. I do not recommend Hill's Science Diet since none of cats would ever touch it.

Pro Plan Select is great. As well as trader joes, and fancy feast pate(the grain-free kinds).
Whole Foods's 365 canned food is around $14 for a pack of 24(5.5oz)
