does this make sense to anyone else? does anyone else feel the same way?

i don't fear death, but rather i am frightened by the absence of that fear. i am frightened by the warm relief i often feel when i daydream of death. i fear the end of time and the thought of there never being anyone or anything else, but not so much the end of my own existence.

sorry for the randomness of this question but i just had this dream that i was in hospice and it concerns me that my favorite dreams are always the ones where i am dead or dying. i don't think i want to die, there are too many things i still need to experience, goals i have to accomplish and places i still need to see. sorry i am half awake but it was so intense.

there was a strange and pleasant comfort i felt and the feeling scared me awake.

The samurai prayed for death everyday. They wanted it to happen. But when a life or death battle occured, they fought with all their might to stay alive.

They prayed for death so that they could succeed where they needed to succeed most. Once you don't fear death, you have nothing left to fear. So how you feel isn't really a negative. Use it to live life to its fullest.

"i don't fear death, but rather i am frightened by the absence of that fear."

Death is a symbol we haven't come to know yet.

For you it is, as you say, "warm relief."

For others this "warm relief" might be a hunger to return to the womb.

    To me it seems benign.

When I found out that I was going to die someday I asked my Mother, Is it true?

She said, "Yes and then you will be with God".

That didn't set very well with me.

It should, by logic, have a traumatic impact on a kid. It should, by logic,

make a kid very concerned about self and become self-centered. It could foster

an idea of "What's the use"?

Do we stuff this fear back into remission? If so it is sure to surface in

    ominous ways.

As we get older we can manage our emotions better, as long we are not suffering

    from pain.

Knowing our mortality helps. Experiencing the moment more. We no longer have

    the burden of the future.

Have you found joy in your life. Has your life brought joy to others.

Yes, im scared sometimes. Prayers and Faith in God is my secret. When i wake up each day, i thank God for the gift of life, its another day with Him. Waking up is already blessing, the air we breathe, people around us, nature. . so many countless blessings.
