Does anyone's cat do this? Will they stop after they get older. . .?

My cat likes to lick. A lot. If you try and pet and him, he is more focused on licking your hand, and sucking on your fingers.

Also, in the middle of the night, he will come and try to continuously lick my face or arms, while kinda like, kneading where he is licking with his paws.

I was just curious if anyone's cat does this? I don't care too much to stop it, but IS there a way to stop it?

He is a Ragdoll, and is 1 1/2 yrs old. Will he stop when he gets older. . .?

Some pics, mostly for fun :) his name is Cocoa.

Update:

@Mr. Kerstetter

thank you! Yes, his eyes are gorgeous, I love them. They come out a bit dull in pictures, but in real life they are really, really bright. Most ragdolls have this eye color

    We have a ragdoll cat that liked to suck on peoples clothing and hands, he did this until he was about 2 years old. Hes almost 5 now and he doesn't do it anymore. Your cat should eventually stop.

    My cats do an identical element. we've one which is approximately 10, one which is approximately 7, and my toddler which is now very almost 3. The youngest is a ragdoll combination and is plenty bigger than the two older cats (American shorthair), and that i don't think of she is conscious her very own power. the way I see it, she's nonetheless very "kittenish" and in basic terms needs to play with the different 2. Our cats are all thoroughly declawed, so as that they might't incredibly harm one yet another, so we in basic terms enable them to have it out. The smaller of my 2 older cats in basic terms hisses at her now and she or he is going away. So my advice is to leave them be and enable them to duke it out for themselves.

    Your cat was probably taken away from it's mother too quickly. My cat did that too and he did grow out of it. It just depends on the cat, I can't tell you for sure that it will stop because your cat is an individual.

    Your kitty is absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful blue eyes!!! But, I think her licking is a sign of love, or appreciation, or liking of you....whatever the reason she is doing is, it is a sign that the bond between you and him is good and strong.

    Just let him, as long as it is not annoying you to death.

    One of our cats has always done this exact same thing. After he was a couple years old it wasn't as bad, but he still does it some. I think it's just his way of showing affection.

    when your cat does that tell him to stop and dont touch him. If he licks himself more than normal take him to the vet. I LOVE CATS! :)

    My puddy-tat used to lick EVERYTHING (that ended up in front of his face) until her grew out of [that stage.]

    I think it is just A KITTEN-STAGE they all grow through.

    Wait until he finds any loose balls around the house.
