Is it strange to WANT my cat to pee in the tub?

We went the litter box route and she was fine...but a chore for us. We decided to try to toilet train her but found out she was pregnant (she was a stray Siamese that we took in) so went back to the box. When the kittens were old enough, tried the toilet training again, but found they preferred the tub to the litter in the tray in the toilet.

Actually, we're happy with this!! When they go in the tub, we pick it up flush the poop, wash it down and that's it!! No smell, no litter...no fuss!!

Anyone else do the same thing?

Update:

We almost never take a bath (like once a year each!)...only use the shower. We use a toilet brush to scrub out the tub before we shower. SO much less work than scooping the litter!!

Update 2:

Hmmm..lazy vs clean.

Sure, cleaning litter boxes is a chore...but no matter HOW often you clean, there is that smell...

I would spray it with a disinfectant spray afterwards, but other than that I don't see a problem. It all goes down the same drain.

    That is just disgusting!

All because keeping a litter box clean is a "chore."

Wow! I clean 3 litter boxes twice a day. I would never let my cats pee and poop in my tub.

Didn't know some people could be that lazy!

My cat went through a stage of pooing and weeing in the tub. He even managed to get it directly in the plug hole. He is now back to the litter tray though but if it works for you then I don't see a problem

No not here. I don't think I would want my tub used as a litter box, unsanitary and I don't want to have to scrub down the tub every time some wants to use it.

But if you don't mind than that is all that matters.

NO - we bathe in the tub - the cats have two litter boxes they use. Its not a pain to clean out litter boxes. I don't want my cats peeing/pooping in the tub!

BTW I do hope everyone is now spayed/neutered.
