Is the Chinese video of the dogs and cats in crates being killed for fur legit?
I just saw the video of hundreds of dogs and cats being thrown to the ground in crates from large trucks. I understand that the fur of these animals is sold and possibly sewn on clothes sold in the US. I am appalled and extremely saddened by this video. How can we stop this horrible, horrible cruelty??

Unfortunately yes it is true.................how do you stop it........with difficulty........you don't buy any products from China or certainly not that uses fur like clothes, toys etc, you write to your local councillor/state member

Unfortunately, things like that happen all the time all over the world. I'm not sure if that particular video is legit, but the actions are. Dogs and cats are killed for fur just like any other types of animals that are killed for fur. I've even read that some are skinned while they are alive. It is all really disturbing, disgusting and most of all, cruel.
Puppy and kitten mills around the world are run in a similar fashion. Dogs and cats are piled up on top of each other in small, cramped cages forced to lay in their own excrement, with no free space, no attention, and no hope.
I apologize for the graphic description, but there's no point of sugarcoating it. People won't listen and take anything serious until they are given graphic pictures to witness or eyewitness testimony of situations.
The best thing I would recommend is to never buy any type of product with fur on it, real or fake. Even if it isn't real, people who see the item being worn can't tell and it gives off the impression that it is okay to wear fur of any kind.
Try to get involved in animal rescue groups. Volunteer at a local animal shelter or humane society. Contact your state representatives and tell them we need stricter penalties for animal cruelty. Join ASPCA and sign up to receive alerts when desperate situations arise. Look up online petitions to sign, and try and start your own petition. Submit them to government officials to enforce that we will not tolerate animal cruelty.
You may also look into picketing and boycotting locations where clothes, purses, and other items are made with any type of fur. Inform people going into the store that fur products are sold there, and even fake fur gives off the impression that it is okay to kill animals for it. Be careful doing this, as someone who dealt with picket lines during the grocery strike several years ago, people can get really angry when encountering picketers.
The only things you can do is get as many people as possible to avoid fur and fur products. If there isn't a demand for such products, there won't be a reason for them to be made. Thus, animals won't be sacrificed for fashion. Look up other ways that you can get involved too. I'm sure there are more ways out there.

You can choose to do the homework and find out if it is true and to what extent. Then you can choose if you want to do something about it, like write congress, or leading apparel manufacturers or start a public information website. If you put your energy into that, you effect change. If you decide that is too much work, then you must accept that terrible things are done to animals throughout the world, including here in the US. Have you seen the bull dozer pushing the crippled steer into the pen so it can be slaughtered for your steak dinner or McD's hamburger?

You can't stop it. This type of thing goes on all over the world. If you really want to do something, than get a rally going and try boycotting the sales of these types of clothing. If you get enough supporters, than the US might just stop carrying those products. But that's highly unlikely.
