I'm looking for a reliable concealed carry handgun?

I am only looking at 9mm, not 40, 45, 380, 38, 357 etc.

I would like it to be similar in size to the Walther P22 and would like it to be single stack.

Reliability is a must. Price $400-600 out the door.

+P ammunition not required, but it is a bonus. Any one have any suggestions?

Update:

Yes - I am aware that Modern Handgun Magazine has them, but they also get advertising dollars from the same companies that they review so I take what they say with a grain of salt. The Walther PPS gets great reviews from what I've seen, but when you talk to people who have it, and walther forums, they sometimes report an iffy trigger and jamming that is not in many magazine reviews. I'm looking at hands on suggestions from people who I am not going to buy the gun from.

Check out Kel-Tecs. They run at around $300 more or less and are extremely reliable. For a bit more money, you can get a Kahr CW9 for about $550 and are extremely great guns. Hope that this helps!

You like the p22, eh? Well, you should try a Walther PK-380acp. It's pretty much just a p22, only in 380acp. It holds 8 rounds, single stack, reliable, accurate, and about $350-$450. I also love my Bersa Thunder 380, cheep, reliable, accurate, and good looking. Holds 7,8, or 9 rounds(depending on which mag you buy). As for 9mm, you could get a Walther p99, but that's about 25% bigger than a p22. A Bersa Thunder 9mm is about the same size as the 380(which is about the same size as the p22, only a little heavier), and the "ultra compact" one holds 13 rounds, double stack, though(nothing wrong with double stack). The Thunder 45 ultra compact holds 7 rounds, and is the same gun, only a .45acp singeltack. as for .357, I would recommend a EAA Windicator 2, 357 magnum.

How about the Walther PPS? Very similar to the P22. Taurus also has a new 9mm Slim that is a very concealable single stack. Kahr makes several, but are more than $600 OTD typically.

If you decide to change and get a 9x17 (.380), there are a ton of new options. The cartridge is very effective with the newer loadings out there, i have no issue using one as an EDC.

Hell, you could have bought the Taurus version of the M 92 for allot less..... Under $250? Your on the price point borderline of decent & Crap. This is like the girl looking for plastic surgery a few months back. She flew all the way from the UK to get a bigger butt. Rather than go to a real doctor, she had some weird tranny in a Airport hotel inject silicone in her *** from Home Depot to save a buck. Two days later, she was dead (true story) Moral? You get what you pay for...... For $270-$300 The Kel tec pf-9 is a best buy. I carry one every day. It is better than any damn .380 acp in effectiveness & ammo choice. It fits in the palm of your hand, is light, & will fit in your pants pocket. The Taurus Slim series pt 709 & pt 740 are in the same class for a few bucks more. The new Kimber Solo would be good too, for again more Dollars.

The Kel-Tec P-11 fits the bill nicely, but the only thing I don't like is the horrible trigger. It is LOOOOOOOOOOONG pull and has a LOOOOOOOOONG reset. Still, give it a try. The P-11 could be easily carried and concealed in gym shorts if you tried.

Other than that, you could try the Glock 26, Kahr arms, Kel Tec PF9, or even that new compact Ruger should suffice.

Walther PPS is good, I have heard of no trigger problems

Kahr K9 is another choice, or a Sig 239

I spent my money on a Taurus PT-111 Millenium Pro 9mm pistol.

    No regrets.

Check out Glock's website. I own a full size G22, but have shot compact models with great success. Also, some people swear by Beretta, I don't personally, but I know some who really love their compact models.
