Do cats usually like those cat tunnels they sell? Or should i just save my money?

Some cats seem to be afraid of the tunnel if it makes noise.....too loud for their ears.

I made my own tunnel. I went to Home Depot ( construction section ) and got a heavy cardboard "concrete piling" form.....6 ft x 8".... They come in different lengths, though, and are VERY STRONG. Then, I went to a carpet store & bought enough carpet remnant to completely cover the form....and glued it on with GORILLA GLUE.

By covering the form with carpet, the cats have a tunnel to run through and a scratching "object", too! My cats LOVE their tunnel......and chase each other through it several times a day. They even play hide & seek.....one will run into the tunnel and the other will run around to the other end & pounce when the first one comes out! FUNNY......

Oh, to keep it from rolling, I made two "supports" for it.....one for each end......they look like this.... _I_I_ ... and the form sits inside the "U.........

Anyway, this is an alternative to one of the "crackly" tunnels. Just FYI........

I don't have one for my cats but one of my friends has one.

Both of her cats play in it all the time and have hilarious games of hide and seek with each other.

And one of them sleeps in it when he wants to get away from the world.

I would say go ahead and risk the money. Good chance it won't be wasted on a kitty tunnel.

That's one of the few toys our cats really liked - the tunnel. They are not much into most toys and they hate cat beds, but the tunnel was fun - I got several pictures of them laying in there and playing.

Have you tried open paper bags? If your cat likes them then the tunnel may be fun.

it depends if your cat likes to climb or scratch on things, watch your cat for a couple of days then determine wether the cat likes to do those two things.

I sometimes buy my cats fancy toys...much like kids, they usually prefer the box.

yes they do i have 2 and my kittens love them.
