Our sense of right and wrong given to us by GOD so that we might self evaluate and regulate our actions and behaviors.

Saved is the term some Christian denominations use and pretty much means saved from damnation. Damnation means being exiled to a very unpleasant place for eternity. This place is usually referred to as Hell. Or as LDS state; "outer darkness" and without a "heavenly body"... Personally I've coined the term "saved" as saved from religion. I know for a fact that what all religions teach is completely unprovable. And to me unprovable mean theoretical. But theoretical means there is no evidence against it the actual theory meaning the evidence it has supporting it isn't enough to be considered a fact. But still a theory. All religion has evidence disproving their beliefs and foundations. But the theory of higher powers and afterlife has yes to get some serious evidence against it. I like these theories and I am very interested in them. But everything religiously believed about these theories has been contributed from the mouths of men. Not any evidence to back it up. In short I'm saying there seems to be something about death and what happens to a person when they die but all the evidence that supports something happens has never ever supported what religion has told us about when we die.

Same thing it means everybody else. As a Christian it means I am saved by the grace of God because I cannot make it back to him without his help. It means that I have accepted him as my Saviour.

It doesn't matter which Christian religion you are in Saved is saved. The problem comes when you think that saved is all their is. Most of mankind will accept Christ's sacrifice when they learn of it and truly understand it. They will be saved. They may have to go through hell to get there but alas, God is merciful and forgiving and as he promised King David, he would in time come into the rest of God.

God has given commandments that he wants followed. Not for his benefit but for ours. There is more than just salvation that he wants to give us. Like Christ promised he wants to become joint heirs with Christ and to become perfect as He and His Son are.

I am a Christian and Saint in these the Last Days (LDS).

I personally do not like the term "Saved".

To me it sounds like someone with a holier-than-thou attitude who feels as though they do not need to do nothing more than ask to be "Saved". Say a couple of hail mary's and come back and see me next week... I don't think so.

I don't believe anyone is just "Saved". I believe you have to continually work at being a good person, and attempt at least to stop committing the sins for which you need to repent. I believe in effort in order to be "Saved". Swim for your life, out of the dark abyss, put effort into it.

I believe Christ made it possible for me to return back to Heaven, but "Saved" means nothing to me until I have accomplished that which I was put on this earth for, and completed my journey. A work in progress.

"If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart

that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man

believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto

    salvation" (Romans 10:9-10)

Salvation from Physical Death. All people eventually die. But through the Atonement

and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, all people will be resurrected--saved from physical

death. Paul testified, "As in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive" (1

    Corinthians 15:22).

Salvation from Sin. To be cleansed from sin through the Savior's Atonement, you

must exercise faith in Jesus Christ, repent, be baptized, and receive the gift of the

Holy Ghost (see Acts 2:37-38). If you have been baptized and have received the

Holy Ghost through the proper priesthood authority, you have already been

conditionally saved from sin. You will not be completely saved from sin until you

have finished your life on the earth, having faithfully endured to the end.

Note that you cannot be saved in your sins; you cannot receive unconditional

salvation simply by declaring your belief in Christ with the understanding that you

will inevitably commit sins throughout the rest of your life (see Alma 11:36-37).

Through the grace of God, you can be saved from your sins (see Helaman 5:10-11).

To receive this blessing, you must exercise faith in Jesus Christ, strive to keep the

commandments, forsake sin, and renew your repentance and cleansing through the

    ordinance of the sacrament.

"Saved" in a religious context means hoodwinked by the promise of guaranteed, painless entry into heaven by simply "crying out 'Lord, Lord'". It is the adoption of a smug, cynical attitude toward the world around us, and the abrogation of any material responsibility for other people, especially the least of our brothers and sisters. It is the quintessence of egotism and selfishness. To pronounce oneself "saved" is to declare that one is more important than anyone or anything else in the universe.

"What does 'saved' mean to you?"

When the keeper has stopped the ball from going into the goal. That's in soccer, by the way.

"and what is your religion/belief system?"

    Skeptical.

Saved means the amount of money I have accrued. It means that doctors have saved lives. It means the coastguard have saved lives. It means the goalkeeper prevented the ball from going into the net.
