Everyone needs time to get over the cat first. It's really best to wait a couple of months before getting a new animal. Sorry about the loss!!

I personally love cats, but um... you have to give your friend some time to relieve him/herself of the incident. Then maybe after a few months, you can consider and suggest a new kitten for him/her.
Not to be offensive, but it's a good thing that it was only a kitten less than a year old, cause if it was a cat that he/she had for like 10 years, I think your friend will go into utter depression for much much longer.

That's very sad indeed, but unless you have your friend's parent's permission - I wouldn't take another kitten to him. Also, someone needs to make a decision about how to safeguard a kitten in the household. Some times accidents happen, but with a little care, a kitten can be watched and taken care of to avoid such accidents.

This is very sad and I expect the whole family is upset, but I would hesitate to bring another cat into the household, since it might suffer the same fate. Let your friend and the family grieve and decide for themselves whether they want another pet, and if so, what kind. It's very hard to keep a cat inside, but other pets are easier to keep safe!

Really it is very sad. May be it will work if you bring new kitten to your friend's house.

i would say it depends on the person(if old then maybe yes), because as ceaser milan says animals play on your weekness(sad or depressed), smart animals.....lol
I also lost my dog the same way 2 weeks ago, he was a St bernard i had him a year, very sad i cryed for about 3 days(im 32!!) i dont want another one, i also have an older dog who is still with us so again as i said it depends on the person...... hope i was of some help...

Next time, don't let your friend let his kitten run amok in the streets. Drivers aren't responsible for the animals they kill if the animal was in the streets.

The best thing to do when your pet dies is to immediately get a new one. Don't think of it as not respecting the old pet's memory, you are, but you have to get over the old pet, and a new, frisky kitten will be great.
