Ive had two smokes this pregnancy. Answers?
Okay. Ive had two smokes this pregnancy once when I was 4 and a half months and again today at 6 months. I needed to calm my blood and a shower wasnt doing the trick.
Now Im not freaking out er anything, Im sure my baby will be pure perfection but I would like to hear from other people opinions (mainly from people who have kids....though not chain smokers).
Personally I feel that it was better for my baby to have the smoke and quickly calm my body down rather than stew and stew and not be able to take it down a notch.

This is a touchy subject and Im no going to give you a big speel on the dangers of smoking during pregnancy, I am pretty sure you are well aware of the risks. Personally I have known plenty of smokers who smoked through their entire pregnancy and I am yet to see one that has caused any damage to their baby. That includes low birth weight. Most had babies well over 7lbs actually.
I am not condoning smoking during pregnancy ( its not a good! ) but I am just saying that smoking two ciggarettes is not going to deform your baby in any way.
Best thing is obviously to stop altogether but I know that smoking is not an easy thing to give up.
Nicotene is an addiction so for anyone to call you selfish has no idea what they are talking about. Nicotene is more addictive than heroin, its not just a matter of saying nah I wont have that anymore as for most people its extrememly hard to just stop.

an occacional ciggerette isnt gonna kill or harm anyone, unless you have severe allergic reaction to the chemicals, now im not a chain smoker, but i do have 3 kids all i smoked with, weights were 7lbs 12 oz 20in, 7lbs, 19.5in, and 7lbs 7 oz 21in. and all were born on time by cection because breech, having nothing to do with smoking, and all have been relitively healthy, and suffer no problems, outside of regular kids things, like not listening! now i dont smoke with the kids are in a room with me or even in the house for that matter, My ob doc had told me that since i had been a smoker for more than a few months before concieving my body had grown acustomed to the nicotine and calming effects and if i had tried to quit cold turkey it could actually cause more stress and problems obviously being prego isnt the time to stress and freak out, but to cut back and seeings how its 2 ciggs in 6 months bravo, your doing excelent

ill just say this... my mother smoked a pack a day everyday until the day i popped out and i am perfectly fine. im sure one or two cigarettes will not hurt anything, i didn't know i was prego until i was 17 weeks and i drank and smoked regularly of coarse i don't now at all. ii am sure people will try to make you feel bad about it but don't listen to them it better than getting to the point where you can hurt yourself because your so freaked out, just try not to smoke regularly and if you can go outside and beat a tree with a baseball bat, that always worked for me :)

The baby will be fine but do not look for any more excuses to do it again. Your baby's health is more important than a smoke or two

I think you should be fine if its something you do occasonialy not often and the times that you smoked the baby was fully developed anyway so no harm.

your baby won't be affected, but its not worth risking your baby by smoking any more.
It's best to use this time to find new ways to calm down. Exercise works for many pregnant women to help them calm down.

Do you know the effects that smoking can cause to an unborn child? Cigarettes are really bad and can cause problems to a developing fetus.. you must have some other way to relax other than smoking on a burning piece of paper.. can you not wait till after you have the baby to smoke?.. Unborn babies who have smoking mothers develop growth issues and you basically cutting his/her oxygen as well.. If you are smoking weed.. I guess that is different but don't go chain smoking daily .. please talk with your ob/gyn for support and don't harm your unborn baby.

while you should be fine and your baby as well, you are completely selfish. if you can't deny yourself cigarettes you shouldn't be having a child. sorry to be blunt, but it's common knowledge the effects of drinking and smoking on the fetus. next time try other ways of calming yourself.

You're fine. Constant smokers reportedly give birth to low birth-weight babies but your two cigarettes won't do any harm.
