Brass 9x19mm (LUGER) Ammunition. Bad for your barrel?
I just picked up a few boxes of "Blazer Brass" Ammunition (115gr). I remember reading years ago that brass ammunition put extra wear on the barrel, as it did not conform to the rifling. Does anybody have any experience with this brand?
Also, what types of ammo (brand/style) do you use for target shooting? Also what price range is your brand? Thanks!

You are thoroughly confused. Regular Blaser ammo is aluminum cased. Brass Blaser ammo is brass cased. Some foreign ammo is steel cased. Some people don't like steel cased ammo because they claim it damages their guns. If the mild steel case is harder than the chamber, you might as well damage your gun sooner than later so that you will have a reason to purchase a decent gun. Most US manufactured ammo is brass cased and has been since cartridges were invented. It has nothing to do with the bullet. It is probably FMJ which has to do with the bullet. It is a copper jacketed lead bullet. It is fine to use. I typically get Winchester White Box, but I have purchased some Blaser Brass for my .45 ACP. I selected the brass cased Blaser vs the aluminum cased because I reload.

Brass is softer than steel, so there is no reason it should put unnecessary wear on the barrel. I shoot Blazer Brass when it's what I can find. I usually like to save my brass casings, so Winchester White Box is a little better for this.

Blazer brass?...... That stuff is excellent for target shooting.... I have used thousands of rounds of this stuff. Its reliable and thru my pistols is accurate.... I do note it seems a little dirtier than other brands but overall it is excellent ammunition..... As Glacierview pointed out - Its steel case ammo that puts a little more wear on your firearms.... Not brass cased stuff.....

You have brass cased ammo, not brass bullets.
You are right about brass bullets being hard on barrels, but blazer is cheap plinking ammo. Worst part about it is that its a little dirty.

For 100 years we have been using brass for ammo. It works great, and, for 99.99 of the firearms made it is what is prefered.
I belive it is steel that you want to talk about being bad for some rifles.
