Does anyone have stories they want to share about their boxer dog?

I know that boxers are hyperactive and energetic. I've read it on numerous websites. I don't know many people who have or had a boxer pup. I 'm considering getting one. What personal experiences or experiences of friends can you share to describe their hyperactivity? I saw boxer on youtube take tissue out of a Kleenex box and put a shoe on the sofa while he was alone. Another knocked a trash can down when the owner was gone and tore up paper. This is behavior expected from a pup when bored and doesn't seem major. So what extreme behavior can I expect? What about destructive behavior from boredom or separation anxiety. Please describe their hyperactive characteristics. Just saying they are energetic is not going to help because I know that. I want to know details so I know what I am getting myself into. Please share! Thanks in advance!

Boxer, Boxer ,Boxer! They are the best! I own two of them. My boxers are brother and sister and they are about 16 months old. I researched the breed a lot before I decided on them. They are a medium to large size dog weighing anywhere from 50 to 90 pounds. The are the class clowns of the dog world. They are also the dumbest smart dogs I have ever seen. The both were very easy to potty train and they picked up basic obedience easily. But, they are very mischievous and did quite a few stupid things. My male is the dumb one, he will chase and try to eat bees in the yard even after they have stung him. He also tried to eat a desert toad and for those who don't know, they are very poisonous. He has also got his head stuck in some bad places while exploring. They are also great with kids. I have a 10yr old and a 5 yr old and they watch over my kids and follow them everywhere. I suggest that you go to youtube and watch some boxer video so you can see some of their antics. Also you might want to check out a web sight called www.dogbreedinfo.com to see the other breeds as well. Hope this helps!

I looked after my friend 2 yr old boxer for a week while they were away, and he was absolutely mental!!!

I took him and my dog, a lab, for a 4 mile walk to try and tire him out, my lab was knackered and fell asleep for the rest of the afternoon, the boxer was acted like he hadn't even been out!!!

As far as I am aware he has never chewed anything, but suffers from awful separation anxiety! I dont know whether this is because my friend treats him like a baby or whether it is a trait boxers have, but he would howl from the minute I left my house to the minute I got back!

Saying all of that though he is a lovely dog, great with the kids!! I personally wouldn't get a boxer because they are so hyperactive but if that's ur sorta thing, then go for it!!

My 3rd grade teacher had a boxer that he brought to school with him every day. The kids loved him, and he loved the kids. He even got to go outside for recess. He was calm in the classroom and wasn't disruptive. The year before I was in 3rd grade we got a new principle and no longer could the dog come to school.

i have a boxer mix he is the best they are busy dogs but they are SO funny they keep you laughing all day and night they are prone to allergies and gas machines and do get cancer and heart problems with hip displaysia so going to a good breeder is a give in my dog does have separation anxiety but we crate him when gone so he does not destroy things they are loyal protective and great with kids they learn so fast and are eager to please i would never have another breed of dog again. i actually use my boxer as a service dog and he is the best.
