in the old days you were allowed to kill someone if it was a crime of passion. I think you can still get away with it in some latin american and muslim countries, in most modern countries its just a holdover law, like laws from the 1600's are still on the book that you are not allowed to wash your horse on Sundays, But no police will enforce that these days

'serious crime'? karunainiti is jokingly i.e. non-serously committing this crime by calling one as 'wife', another as 'companion', yet another as 'life-partner' further another by 'ardent fan' etc. etc. ; it is not sreerama! it is hey Rama!
