Am I being paid a fair salary?
I have a bachelors degree with a major in finance and minor in accounting. I work in the accounting department for a fortune 500 company and make $54,000 per year. I graduated with my bachelors in December of 2007 and have been working full time for 2 and a half years. I am also working on my MBA currently. What are the average salaries for finance majors or business people working for big companies? Does this sound like a fair salary given my education, time since graduation, and the fact I am working on my masters?

Craig Johnson, I would change your user id, if I was you.
Your salary appears competitve. However, you can go to www.salary.com to determine for sure. This will take into consideration your duties, your experience and your location

Considering the fact that most companies are making cuts, and the majority of graduates can not find work, yes you are receiving a fair wage.
You should be happy that you were even able to find a job.
I, along with several friends in various majors have yet to find a job that pays any more than $10 an hour.

All congressman spend a large fraction of their time raising funds and campaigning anyway so it is mostly a matter of which office they are campaigning for, It isn't fair, but not much it this world is, and it is far from the most expensive thing they indulge in to further their careers. Pork barrel spending amounts to little more than buying votes for their re election.

You are going to have to be more specific. WHERE do you work and what specific function in Accounting are you doing?
Working on your MBA has nothing to do with your salary until after your graduate.
