Don't people realize they can't disarm us?

You would think that if we're all these evil people that are just murderous lunatics.... They'd want a gun to defend themselves from us, instead of trying to make them illegal.

I'll just throw it out there, that if guns were banned and confiscated.... Using plumbing parts, a single spent shotgun shell, matches, wood, feces, some lead weights, a nail, and a spring... I could produce a functioning shotgun in about 72 hours. Oh, and an iron file and a torch would be great, but not necessary.

You can take guns away from me... But I'll just make more.

Update:

Never mind... I was going to post this as a shocker response to some guy in the hunting section that wants to take everyone's deer rifle away.... disregard this.

Update 2:

Wow.... Well, I actually build Ar15s for a living in a local gun store, and publish articles in Guns & Ammo...

We obviously see the world differently.

Are all gun owners hard of hearing? Nobody is trying to take away your guns. Every election the NRA starts the same old drum beat: "The government is going to take away your guns!" They play gun owners like a fine fiddle and chuckle all the way to the bank.

Although I hardly think citizens have a need to own assault weapons, or strap on a gun to attend a rally, visit a bar, get a cup of coffee at Starbucks, or purchase groceries on the way home. Are you expecting an invading army? It would have to be other gun owners like yourselves because the rest of us aren’t running around with guns. Of course Black Water (or whatever name they are going by these days), and one or more of the militias running around in the woods is always a possibility.

You know this "Liberal tree huggers want to take our guns away" is just the same old scare tactics that Republicans have been feeding you guys for the last 25 years.

It isn't true and has never been true.

Having a handgun in the home for personal protection, a shotgun for varmints and a rifle for game hunting is fine - it's the cranks that MUST have AK47's and Uzis that bother me. semi autos designed for combat use do NOT belong in private hands, sorry but that seems self evident.

Let's not overlook the many ads in Guns & Ammo and other mags offering conversion kits to turn these things into full autos, sorry I don't want a Rambo wannabe anywhere near such firepower - it's those kind of excesses that cause the knee jerk reaction of more regulations to control the sale and licensing of firearms.

EDIT: Colter, I appreciate your gunsmithing skills and the AR15's you supply are (I hope) largely for hunting. firearms have a long and fascinating history, many are works of art in their own right but there are a minority of people around that obsess about them, have to have a veritable arsenal in their home and cleave to the Survivalist credo of "guns good - more guns better" - they give regular gun users a bad name.

I am sure that this could happen in australia too , but if it didn't

what did happen is that when the supply of legal guns dried up the criminals couldn't get them easily either and gun deaths and robberies with guns declined too

    a brilliant success

most people are not gunsmiths so they wont be making their own guns
