Question for X-tians?

How do you or are you able to deal with the "fact" that your beliefs are entirely based on myths of Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians?

Examples: From Egyptian culture

Horus = Jesus

Ptah = creator of the world by his own words

Khnum = created all men on a "potter's wheel"

Aker = lion-god, one who meets all people at the last gate of the judgment

Field of Reeds = Egyptians believed this is where all deceased whose hearts weren't heavy with sin got a plot of land

A sampling of info on website

The trinity of Atum (or Osiris) the father, Horus (or Iu) the son, and Ra the holy spirit = The Trinity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit

Seb, the builder of the house, the carpenter = Joseph, the carpenter

Many people do not realize that Christianity, as well as many other religions are adaptations and summations of many ancient religions.

    1) If you think that Horus = Jesus, then feel free to prove it using the original sources.

    2) Considering that many ancient cultures thought that words had powers, not too surprising.

    3) Yahweh didn't create any men on a potter's wheel.

    4) Ignores the vast differences between the basis for judgment in Egyptian religion and Christianity (earned vs. grace)

    5) The idea of sin was almost universal in religion.

I have found that you can have a relationship with the one true God. Some seek Him and find He is. Some seem not to. I can't say what He'll do, it seems to me that if you can seek Him openly and not put up barriers, He will be known to you. If you fear being tricked, I would like to suggest you seek Him one on one in the Holy Bible. Anything could technically be a myth until you find truth.

May I suggest an NIV study Bible if you choose? If so, please read the front, find out who has contributed and their background. There will be notes under scripture to consider, you too will have your own thoughts. Pray and simply ask God to reveal Himself as you read. I always thought God existed, I have come to find it true...it was through Jesus this happened.

Links if your interested. There was a time I would read such and test if God was there by simply zipping through and waiting for contact. If you read slow and ponder what is going on, I think you'll find it has much to do with your heart.

So a group of Jews decided to risk their lives to invent a religion "entirely based on myths of Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians"? Yeah, that makes sense.

How are you able to deal with the "fact" that your "fact" is an unqualified assumption?
