Cat Spay Question . . . . .?

How much does it typically cost?

I took a previous cat to be spayed at a very low-cost ASPCA, they cat was dropped off in the morning and ready to be picked up in the afternoon. The huge down side to this was the cat was still flipping out when I picked her up becasue she was still under the effects of the anesthesia (which included a sedative and a hypnotic). They told me to be careful since she would be hallucinating for the next few hours.

Seeing my cat like that brought me to tears and tore me up very badly (being pregnant myself didn't help much) and I swore I would never put myself or a cat of mine through that again. So this time to spay my cat I want her to stay over night, so when I pick her up the sedation will have worn off.

How much should I expect to pay for a spay and an overnight stay?

Thanks.

Update:

Thank you Villies but the ASPCA where I live only does outpatient spays, they will not keep them overnight.

It was cheap (25$) but I am more than willing to pay more for my cat to be boarded over night.

Update 2:

Thank you Kristin for helping me with the pricing (what I was actually asking about). Hopefully I can find it for around 100$.

Lone Wolf - That's great and all but she is 6 yrs old and already had 2 litters.

Have you ever lived with a cat for *years* who is constantly in heat because she never gets any? ? ?

Damned annoying, she's not my cat anymore; she is sex deprived and pathetic. I cannot pet her anymore without her posturing her bottom at me and rubbing bottom on my hands, feet ect ect. *Now she has started rubbing herself on my 18 month old daughter!* GROSS! ! !

You try living with that and then you you may actually see my point of view. I used to think like you until I experienced and tolerated this for far too long.

    dont spray it,

let it live a normal life

Edit : i know it sucks but how much does it suck for her,

yes i had cats too but i didnt spray them,

they lived just like nature wanted them to live

edit : all the people telling you to spray her is accually insecure about if they did a mistake spraying their cats.

get it a unfertile male cat

    who has unfortionately been nutered

My vet charges about $120. This is a basic spay, not laser and no pre-surgery blood work. The cost will vary depending on your area. Call around and ask.

I brought my cat home the same day too but they told me to leave her in our cat carrier for the rest of the day to rest. This kept her calm and relaxed. You can always try this if over night is not an option.

can't help with pricing info but I am sure the cat would be happier at home.

IF you have a quiet room just put it there with a tray. Check on it early evening with a meal of cooked chicken (and of course water!) and she'll be as right as rain the next day.
