  • No Car Seats In Car with Toddlers?

So I just called 911 on a car with two toddlers and not a carseat to be seen, 4 adults in a Dodge Neon (small sedan) and somewhere in that car were two toddlers and no carseats. Everyone clown car-ed in and the two girls (2 and 3 yrs old) were shoehorned into laps in the back seat. With 4 adults there are no room for two carseats.

Did I over react? Part of me feels like I did but part of me in very pissed off that how dare they ride around and not have car seats for them! I guess it doesn't matter now, I already made the call but I'm torn, did I do the right thing?

  • Rit Dye, anyone have any experience?

So I soaked a white cotton dress in some scarlet Rit Dye overnight. It splotched a bit, so I rinse it with some cold water and immediately tossed it into another hot dye bath (same color). Should I have rinsed, rinsed, washed it and then tried dying it again? Or was I right to just toss it back into the dye bath?

Anyone have any experience with Rit?

  • Designer Clothes from Magazine - How to find them?

I found this awesome bathing suit in an Esquire magazine but I cannot seem to find who designed the bathing suit or where to buy it from! There's more about the photographer, the camera he used and the model who was in it!

Does anyone have a suggestion about how to find this bathing suit?

  • Another Caylee Anthony Question?

Was the State and the Prosecution 'forced' into a trial by the media and the public before they had enough evidence to win the case?

There is NO statue of limitation on first degree murder in Florida, so why did the Prosecution go to trial with such weak circumstantial evidence? I think they went to trial because public opinion and the media forced their hand.

If the media outcry had been less and the public outcry had been more thoughtful, they may have had more time to build a winning case.

  • Oops, Maybe - Birth Video and Toddler Question?

So I was rewatching the video of my daughter's birth (muted) when she snuck up behind me at the critical moment (delivery). I didn't know she was behind me until she said, "Momma, vulva, baby!" She's now 2 1/2 yrs old, I don't think she's been 'scarred' by it. She went back to playing when it was over a couple minutes later and hasn't mentioned it since.

I didn't want to freak out, so I explained to her that was her when she was a little baby. She seemed way more interested in the fact that Mom, Dad and her Gramma were in a movie. I don't think I should be worried about this but . . .

I suppose there's nothing I can do about it now but I am slightly concerned. I just keep telling myself that many children watch the birth of their younger sibling and seem to be fine. Should I be more concerned or just let it go? Opinions please ladies . . .

  • Anti-Choice and Ecology?

Does the anti-choice point of view ignore the ecology of the limited resources we have on the planet?

Instead of focusing on the quality of life, they seem to be focusing on the quantity of lives which to me runs counter to the what our ecosystem can support.

    What do you guys think?

Anti-Choice as in anti-contraception and anti-abortion. Basically anti-any reproductive choice other than getting pregnant and giving birth.

  • Police / CPS Question?

This afternoon I heard a girl screaming and the belt that was beating her from a neighbors balcony - about 5000ft away. I ran to get dressed and walked around our apt building to see where the screams 'Somebody please help me!' were coming from.

When I found the balcony I yelled up there, 'What's going on?' - trying to as non-confrontational as I could. A man came out and started to tell me to mind my own business and that he would beat me down also. Needless to say I went back home, called the apt management and our Neighborhood Police Officer, the officer informed me that I needed to call 911.

I did that but they got their apt number incorrect and knocked on the wrong door, twice!!! When I spoke to the officers about the welfare check on this child who was being beaten, the officers informed me that in Texas 'discipline' can be meted out by parents 'practically to death' (her exact words), I was told that this is the law and if I didn't like it I needed to talk to my legislators!

I have already called CPS and filed an anonymous report, if the police will NOT do anything, then CPS has to. The officer told me that this was a matter for CPS, not them!

Can a compliant be made about this officer? I think she was simply pissed off that she had already come out twice that day to the wrong apt and just didn't want to deal with this particular compliant any longer. She said they would check the correct apt but I have trouble trusting someone who told me parents practically have a legal right to beat their children.

    Any advice? Thanks for listening.

  • A Question about International Versions of Books ? ? ? ?

I bought a textbook for my midwifery apprenticeship, it's an international version and clearly says on the cover (now that I have received it) -

"This book is not intended for sale in the Australia, Canada, Europe, Japan or the USA."

Why would a book say that? What's the difference between an international version of a book and something you can pick up at Barnes and Noble?

Can anyone shed light upon this?

  • Cat Spay Question . . . . .?

How much does it typically cost?

I took a previous cat to be spayed at a very low-cost ASPCA, they cat was dropped off in the morning and ready to be picked up in the afternoon. The huge down side to this was the cat was still flipping out when I picked her up becasue she was still under the effects of the anesthesia (which included a sedative and a hypnotic). They told me to be careful since she would be hallucinating for the next few hours.

Seeing my cat like that brought me to tears and tore me up very badly (being pregnant myself didn't help much) and I swore I would never put myself or a cat of mine through that again. So this time to spay my cat I want her to stay over night, so when I pick her up the sedation will have worn off.

How much should I expect to pay for a spay and an overnight stay?

    Thanks.

  • Abortion and Medical Ethics?

When a child (girl 12 or under) becomes pregnant (however it happened) is there any 'rules' that doctors use to determine that an abortion would medically necessary?

Does the child have a choice or is she ineligible to give an opinion by her ignorance and age?

  • Why are pro-chcoie women slandered . . . .?

as w.h.o.r.e.s? I just got the most fantastic little email calling me one. Which I think is absolutely hilarious because I have been married for over 10 years. My husband and I both made the decision to terminate that pregnancy, so how does that make me a w.h.o.r.e?

Why the misconception that women who are pro-choice or have had an abortion must be s.l.u.t.s?

(This email was priceless it had so many words ***** out of it, the only word that actually came through was w.h.o.r.e)
