31 weeks and baby's weight is 4lbs 2oz?
I am worried that she will get too big to deliver naturally, they are estimating if I go to full term for her to be about 9.5-10lbs? Does that sound like an accurate rate of growth over the next 9 weeks.
Thank you

I delivered a 9 lb 14.5 oz, 24"long, boy, vaginally. First pregnancy... and all worked out fine.
Yeah... I was shocked as all get out!
Your body is designed to carry any size baby to term, relax and patiently await the arrival.
I'm so happy for you.

Ultrasounds are normally off by 1-3 lbs (and normally will measure on the large side) You have to remember it is a educated guess not a set in stone number. With my first two children I was told my first was going to be 8-9 lbs and she was born on my due date at 6lbs 5oz and 18 3/4 long, My second I was told again 9lbs delivered him at 38 weeks and he was 6lbs 13oz and 19in long. My third I had no care to know so they didn't do a "guess" and he was 7lbs 8oz 18 in (also born on due date). This baby will be the same, I don't need to get freaked out by something that most likely will be wrong anyway what his size will be is what it will be, I don't have a history of large babies so I am not concerned at all.
Calm down, unless you have GD or large babies run on your side of the family there is a slim chance you will have such a large baby.

You usually have to subtract about 1/2 a pound from the estimate they give you. both my techs told me that and said the machines are usually off by 1/2 pound. it is possible for the baby to be over 9 lbs but that doesn't mean you wont be able to deliver naturally. my best friend gave birth to a 9lb baby without a problem. also the weight doesn't determine if you will or will not be able to deliver naturally, the size of the shoulders do.

A baby can gain anywere between half a pound to a pound a week. So you may be looking at a 9 lb baby. But you never know, when I was pregnant with my son everyone swore I was gonna have a 10lb baby, he was only 7 lbs .8 oz. Big difference. I would not stress to much on the size just yet :)

your baby isnt growing that much per day at this point but Id say in the next 3wks or so your baby will start putting 1/2 and oz a day then at 36wks its an oz a day there are 16oz in a lbs the "typical weight at this point is 3.7 so your baby is only about 1/2 a lb over normal and remember the ultrasound is give or take and in both my children it was take during delivery they said my daughter would be 6lbs give or take a few hrs later she was born at 5lbs 8oz 1mos early
then my son who was born 2!!!! mos early they told me he was about 7lbs 3days b4 i delivered he came out at exactly 5lbs so dont worry
im sure she wont be that big but cut back on the sugary foods and you should be find
Im going to guess she will be about 7.12

I wouldn't trust a weight estimate from an ultrasound. They are not accurate.
A woman's body rarely grows a baby too big for her to deliver. Unless you are obese or have gestational diabetes you really don't have much to worry about.

At 33 weeks, my son grew to become into 4 kilos 4 oz.. I gave delivery at 39 weeks, and four days and he weighed 7 kilos 2 oz. - which in all fairness known. do not difficulty, he's probably not quite small, yet he will merely be known length.

With my 1st child my dr estimated at 30 weeks that she was 4lbs and said the same thing. She was born on her due date and she was 7lbs 8oz. I wouldn't worry too much.

late in you pregnancy a baby can gain up to a pound a week so yes it is possible to have a large baby. my doctor told me i was gonna have a 9lb baby but she was barley 7lbs and i wasnt early!!! they are not always right

They say 0.5lbs per week, so 4.5lb gain is accurate.
I really wouldn't listen too much to their estimation - very rarely are they right!
