Who has seen the movie "The Book of Eli"?

I don't want to spoil the ending for anyone who hasn't seen it, but did anyone else see that coming? I sure didn't!

I saw it, and liked it. I didn't see the ending coming either.

And to the person who doesn't believe that humanity is teetering on the edge of chaos, take a look at any country that has had a natural disaster. Look at what happened to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. We are only 1 week removed from mass starvation and riots, and people don't realize it. If the transportation system fails, we will be rioting for food within a week.

I personally loved this movie. There is an underlying meaning throughout the entire story that it is a book for the desperate. And can be used as a control method for those with little education or hope (just like the people thousands of years ago hmmm) If you watched the movie, the guy at the end who is running the place with all the saved artifacts, said that they don't have a bible and that adding one to the collection would be of great value. He doesn't once say or act like it is a God send, just an important part of our history that he would like to save (especially because it is the reason the war in the movie started)

This movie basically says that religion is a joke but the morals taught in it are very important. It was a very good movie.

It was obvious almost from the start and the movie itself was very predictable.

As much as I enjoy Mr. Washington's acting, this movies was bomb.

Everyone in the theater were turning to one another when the film had finished and commenting on how he had a book he had memorized but had never internalized or live by, and asking why was it necessary to add it to the library collections when they already had older, more complete versions from several other sources?

I was very disappointed and had hoped that his book would have been about the practical application of modern physics or something more useful.

The critics also seem to have panned the film.

We saw it coming if you listened to some of the things he said. There was one part late on where we were pretty sure. I forget the exact part but it was later in the movie. He did a few things that make you think "no, can't be"

The second time i saw it someone in the room asked really early on, i thought it was kind of weird but he is a movie guy. There are a lot of hints if you watch it the second time.

No, and all the effing rape insinuations INFURIATED me. Apparently humanity is teetering on the edge of CHAOS. I was wholly unaware that we were one catastrophe away from living in RAPE CITY. Good god, I could rant all day about that crap.
