What is the cause of the sharp pain in my hip?

Yesterday I was hanging out and doing some tricks for fun. After landing one of the tricks (I didn't mess up) I got a sharp pain in my hip that came whenever I lifted my left leg. The pain started out small but then got increasingly worse throughout the day. This morning, the pain is still here. It feels like it's coming from inside of the actual joint. I thought it might be a pinched nerve, but, after looking it up, I'm not feeling any of the numbness or radiating pain that is associated with a pinched nerve.

Do you have any idea what this could be and how I can stop the pain?

Practitioners of the Chinese art of Tai Chi believe that pain can be caused when the energy that flows through one’s body (Chi) becomes trapped in critical flow points like joints. Trauma is one of the ways the energy can be trapped.

In your case, try just the basic Tai Chi stance. Stand normally with your arms at your sides and feet shoulder width apart, knees slightly bent. Now, imagine that a tall stool rests just under your bottom. The stool begins to get slowly shorter. Sink backward slightly to keep your bottom on the seat of the imaginary shrinking stool. When your legs begin to feel stress, imagine that the stool stops shrinking. Hold that position as long as you can.

Also, (this is not Tai Chi) try the following stretch. Find a doorway that connects two rooms. Lie down with your body halfway through the doorway and your right hip against the door jam. Keep your left leg on the ground and lift your right leg so that it rests straight up against the side of the door jam. Now, your left leg is on the floor and your right leg is vertical. Let your entire right leg just sink down like a nail so that you feel the stretch along its entire length. When you’ve had enough, switch and stretch your left leg the same way.

For additional stretching benefit, get a towel and throw it over the ball of your foot on your raised leg. Pull down on the towel for ten seconds. Then, ten times, push against the towel like you are pushing a gas pedal.

    I hope that helps.

trust me. all problems involving viruses or bacteria whatever the sooner your problem is diagnosed and treated the better. what you need to do is get your butt in gear asap and get to a doctor. My grandma didnt and shes dead, her problem was Hepatitus C and yea she Did'nt really catch on to the symptoms. I do not want you to end up like her!
