What would you consider a teenage mother, young mother, and older mother?

I think a teen mother is 17 and under, a young mother is 18 to 22 and an older mother is after 35. What about you?

Hmmm....what happened to the rest of us? LOL. I had my daughter when I was 28. I wouldn't exactly say that is an older mom but not a young mom either......just a mom. ; )

A teen mother is anyone who is a teenager which falls between 13-19. There is no way of arguing that. I like how people are saying that 17 year olds are mature enough to take care of a child. How, exactly? They haven't graduated high school, they aren't legal adults which means they cannot sign legal contracts, they are still minors. Most 17 year olds know nothing about life (nor do most 22 year olds) so I don't see how they are mature enough to take care of a baby without help. I have known lots of teen moms. While many of them took good care of their kids, they sure didn't do it on their own. They had help from parents and other relatives. Some, unfortunately, do not do a very good job of watching their own children and rely on others to do everything for them.

To answer the rest of your question, I think a young mother is 20-30 and older mother is after 30 (although I do not think 30 is old by any stretch of the imagination). I'm 25 so I'll be 30 in less than 5 years.

lol, i was going to say so whats that make me i'am 23?

I don't see how a 20 year old is a teen mom, she has been an adult for three years.

Wow heather, 22 is a young mother on what sense? I'am 23 and have been on my own since i was 17, In no way am i to immature or to young to be a mother. I have been responsible for 6 years. So i think you need watch what you say. Plus what is the difference between a 22-23 year old to a 25 year old?

It definitely wouldn't be better if you had an abortion. What would have been better is if you'd abstained from sex. Teenagers generally aren't ready for sex and the emotional and physical consequences of it. That being said--I do not look down on pregnant teenagers. When I see a young pregnant girl, I actually commend her (in my head, lol) for keeping the baby, whether she's going to keep it or put it up for adoption). I actually feel bad for pregnant teens because I know exactly what they'll be giving up. I didn't have my first child until I was 26, so I had a normal childhood/teen years/college experience. It's sad what you girls will miss because of a baby. :( I am NOT saying you'll end up being a frumpy, fat housewife with rollers in her hair who lives in a mobile home (lol), you absolutely still can finish high school, go to college, etc., but it'll take longer since you have a baby to care for, and you'll probably miss out on a lot of things that you'd be able to do if you didn't have a baby. So no, I don't look down on you girls--I feel badly for you, but I'm thankful you chose to give your babies a chance at life. :)

    Teen mother: 16 and under

    Young Mother: 17 to 23

    Older Mother: 35 and up

In between young and older is just regular mother lol

Pretty close to what you have, I just consider 17 to be young mother because at that point in life you are mature enough to know what's right for your baby and how to take care of it properly and alone w/o adult supervision haha.

    Anyways, I like this question!

Heather, just because you were f****** retarted when you were 17 doesn't give you the right to put down everyone else. Just saying.

  • A teen mother is any woman having a baby while she is in her teens, 13 to 19. A young mother is one in her early 20's, 20 to 24 and An older mother is over 35.

A teen mother is a mother between the ages of 13 and 19. Having had my first child at 19, I very much resented being considered a teen mother, though, because I was married, we owned our home, our child was planned, etc. But, statistically I was.

I would consider a young mother to be 18-24.

I would consider an older mother to be 35+ when having her child.

I guess technically I was a teen mom since I got pregnant at 18. But personally I'd think of myself as a young mom. When I hear teen mom I think more of a teenager in high school, living at home. I had already graduated and lived on my own when I got pregnant.

    teenage: under 20

    young: 20 to 35

    older: after 35

But I am 20 and I would most probably behave just like a teenage mother if i would be one. But I plan on being an old mother.
