Can you help me with my math question?

I need help with this problem.

x/4+2x=1/3

I don't want the answer I am just not sure what step I am suppose to take next being that one of the x is in fraction form.

Do I just turn 2x into 2x/1 and the it will be come x/4+2x/1=1/3?

Update:

@Daniel: Thanks! after I did that I got 3x=1/12

    multiply the left side by 4/1 and the right side by 4/1 because you need to isolate the X. The 4s on the left side will cancel giving you x+2x whch is 3x and the right side you will get 1/3*4 so 4/3

    Here's another way to solve it:

    x/4+2x=1/3

    Not multiply everything by the least common multiple of the denominator which is 12

    3x + 24x = 4

    27x = 4

    x = 4 / 27

    2x is 2x/1. Always.

    What you need to do is subtract 2x and then multiply both sides by 4 to get the value of x, when isolated.
