A question about knives in Pennsylvania?

I recently bought a 10.5" bowie knife that I want to carry. I camp sometimes and it doesn't hurt to have a good knife around.

I've been asking around trying to nail down exactly what the rule is for knives this size. Can I take it anywhere (with the exception of schools/government buildings of course) as long as it's visible, or did I waste my money on something that I can't take off of my own property?

In Pennsylvania, you are broadly prohibited from carrying a weapon in such a way that it displays an intent to use it offensively or for a criminal purpose. If you were carrying the weapon while going camping, this would not be a violation of the statute. If you were carrying it around town, there is fair inference that it has no legitimate purpose but to display an offensive potential as in "don't mess with me." It would be illegal in that context.

Basically, don't carry it unless you are taking it into a context where it could not be misconstrued as an offensive weapon in any context.

You would not be resembling "Crazy Dora,.ah,.?"

It would not be in good taste,..to carry a big knife around,..However,..if you have hunting license,..

And, will be wearing field gears,..or,.possibly work clothes,..I'm thinking it be alright to carry

a holstered knife,..Most,..definitely,.though, when you have on hunting clothes,..and, would

be going on a fishing, or hunting trip,?! The hunting license covers the knife,..Meanwhile,.go check

out the rules at the licening bureau,..!! That I stated may be the norm,,
