Please don't use any more products on your pet, because some of these products cannot be mixed with others without being toxic. Gather them up, and take them to your vet. Ask him/her to recommend a good topical like Revolution, Frontline, or Advantage that would be safe to use with all this other stuff. Also ask about a flea spray for your home.

Just vacuuming really well, even under furniture, and throwing the bag away immediately will help get rid of fleas. The eggs will hatch 3 weeks after, so keep doing it for a good month.

Over the counter flea products can be dangerous. The nicest thing most people have to say about them is that they are a waste of money. With the exception of Frontline of Advantage, which I believe they sell at Petsmart, you don't want to buy your flea products at the store. It's better to get them from your vet. You need to apply them once a month only, use the right dose for your cat's weight, be SURE you are buying the product for cats only, NOT the dog stuff, and use them every month unless it's below freezing outside.

    Best of luck to you!

Have you tried topical Frontline, Advantage, or Revolution in addition to oral Program (flea birth control)? A Capstar tablet will kill the live fleas on him and can be used daily. Cleaning the environment is important too- may even need to call an exterminator for the house. A vet visit is needed to address the sores- may need antibiotics +/- steroid injection for the itching. He probably has FAD.

Response to answer posted below- Comfortis is a wonderful product but is not approved for use in cats! For dogs only!

Get him a pour on product to kill the flees. Treat your house and his bed with carbadust, it will kil the flees and not harm your pets. REMEMBER flees go with worms De worm your cat immediately. The tablets however kills only the worms and not the eggs in your cats intestine, so de worm again in 2 weeks when the eggs has hatch to get rid of the problem. Or use profender with is a poor on for worms and work for months. The key in getting rid of flees is de worming how odd it might sound Get him some cortisone ointment for the bite marks to relieve the pain and itch

Please stop using over the counter medications, they are very dangerous and, as you can see, not very effective at all. What you need to do is take your cat to the vet so that the vet can prescribe you a good flea medication like Frontline, Advantage, or Revolution.

Skin problems can be difficult to figure out. Our dog is allergic to everything. It could be allergies or it could be mange or it could be, and believe it or not this isn't the least bit uncommon in cats, OCD. A skin scraping should rule out mange. To give the cat the medication you first need to make sure she can't get to anyplace where you can't get her. Depending on what it is sometimes you can sneak it into their food. Cats are notoriously fussy about this type of thing though. Skin problems can be frustrating in pets but proper treatment is usually found.

did you try a flea medicine from a vet such as frontline plus or advantage? You may have to seek the advice from a vet

Get him to a pet clinc. Maybe they can keep him for a while until the fleas are in controlled or asked them what to do or use

You have to take him to the vet and use frontline, advantage is good but not as good as frontline. Hope your cat gets better

I know it might be hard, but washing him in lemon dish soap will cause the fleas to not WANT to bite his skin. they don't like it.
