What if the Graduate school you are applying to does not have Assistantships and Fellowships?
The Graduate program I am applying to is a small school and I was recently told that they do not offer Assistantships or Fellowships for my program which is Master of Science Counseling Psychology. Is this something that happens often? How else besides through loans do I finance my Graduate study? I already have quite a few loans I am currently paying on for Undergrad. However, this is the school I would like to attend and am waiting for their accept or reject response. Thanks for your helpful responses.

I know this is the school you really want to go to, but can you? Financially, can you do so? Do other schools in your field offer RA and TA and fellowships?
I ask because realistically, you'll need to pay for this school via loans. And most people in your field, out of a masters program, don't make a ton of money. How much in loans will you have when you graduate from this school? Will you be able to make enough to make the loan payments each month? You may want to use a student loan calculator like this one:

One thing you can ask this school about is if they offer RD and ARD positions - residential director and assit. residential director. These are the staff who live in the dorms and supervise the resident assistants. Most schools give you free housing in exchange for doing this work.

My daughter, taking Technology Management at grad school got a GA the second semester that paid her tuition and fees and a small stipend. She graded papers and taught 2 undergrad classes. For the third semester she got an outside fellowship in Washington DC that paid her $10,000 for the semester. For her fourth semester she got another GA with a research institute associated wit the university that paid her tuition and fees and a somewhat larger stipend.
Now she has a fully funded PhD in civil engineering arranged by the people in DC she met while on her fellowship.
I suggest you accept if they accept you than talk with their financial office about how to finance your degree and what GA opportunities they may have.

Your undergraduate loans can be deferred until after you finish graduate school. You will either have to get more loans for graduate school or get a job and pay as you go.
Either that, or go into a different field that offers fellowships.

you is in simple terms no longer eligible for any provides you when you consider which you have already earned the 1st degree. you would be eligible for some interest-backed loans. you will in simple terms would desire to prepare using a FAFSA and notice what comes from the college's financial help place of work. At very least you will desire to be waiting to get an unsusbsidized loan. the applying can many times be processed extremely rapidly besides the shown fact that it incredibly is superb to do it some months beforehand, and you may deliver your apllication to 3 colleges while you're uncertain the place you're going. i know there's a delight component and a choose to pay for it your self, yet why no longer settle for some help out of your mum and dad? i in my view paid for my grad college with loans, and that i wish i did no longer would desire to pay them decrease back now...

Loans sadly. That's all you can do sometimes. I talked to a woman who is a dentist now $340,000 in school loans. It's worth it though, you'll be earning more money and will be able to pay back the loans quicker.
