What would you do (re: Stacey Soloman)?
I read in the papers recently that Stacey Soloman was being slammed for choosing not to return to her £25,000 per year job to go into the jungle on I'm A Celebrity...
She was quoted as saying that she was providing a future for her son with the money she would be earning but many slammed her for cashing in on her menial celebrity status and embarrassing herself in front of millions on TV.
So, what would you do? Would you embarrass yourself and cash in on what little fame and publicity you could generate to earn £25,000+ in a few days rather than slave away in a job that earns that per year or would you rather 'take the high road' and work for that money?
Me? I'm not opposed to making an idiot of myself on TV and cashing in on whatever menial publicity I could generate to provide a stable financial future for myself and my children. No, I wouldn't go without underwear for a quick paparazzi shot but I would eat bugs! Derogatory? Maybe but I think you'd be silly to turn down that amount of money that could help your life and your child's life.

It's a hard one. stay in an office and earn £25,000 a year or earn the same amount for a couple of week's work, have an adventure I could never have any other way, see how strong I was and learn more about myself and knowing that at that young age I could go back to another job afterwards, or temp for a while. At her age, I'd take the adventure. Life is for living so if she has the chance, good for her for using the opportunity and going for it.

Well my thoughts are why shouldn't she? If the TV company are willing to pay her that for the most two weeks of work, plus a few days either side of being in the jungle in a fantastic Australian hotel. They good on her. I would not be able to do that show myself, as anything that is an bugs/spider or snake i cant stand, so would not put myself through that. But if i was offered to do something i could then I would jump at the chance. If it would give my children the best I could, then I would do it in a shot.

anybody criticising her is a hypocrite. Lets face it, 99.99% of people would do a LOT to earn a years salary in 3 weeks or less. and the .01% of people that wouldnt are proud idiots who have probably never even seen the show. As long as you dont act like a douche on there, you're career can only get stronger.

Stacey's a pretty lady. How is she ditsy? only simply by way she talks? Can she help that? No, that is her voice, the way she SPEAKS. Her singing is gorgeous, she's very proficient.. and in spite of if i choose Joe to win, i does not be completely upset if she did. :)

she is not embarrassing herself at all! neither are the others (except gillian omg) but its her choice and i'd rather go in a jungle than work!

I think you should take every opportunity that comes your way. I think she will probably win anyway and who knows what opportunities might come her way then. | am sure she will be able to find another job when the time comes.
