What is your best, home-made, creamy, not baked, macaroni and cheese recipe?

From scratch, no cream of anything soup, no Velveeta, and please not baked.

Recipes you have actually made. Obviously I know how to Google and research recipes, but I'm not finding what I'm looking for. I would like your old-school fam fave recipe, if you're willing to share. Thanks again!

    From scratch is the best! I make this alll the time. I typically do a bake recipe but when short for time, I have a different one I use.

    While your macaroni is cooking, take 4 TBS butter and melt it in a deep pot. Once melted, slowly whisk in 4 TBS flour. You will end up with a thick paste. A whisk is NECCESARY to make a smooth and creamy cheese sauce. Add in a cup of milk, very little a time. Whisk in and allow to thicken before adding more milk. You will have a thick cream sauce now. Add in some salt, pepper, and two handfuls of shredded cheddar (or another cheese if you prefer.) Whisk thoroughly. You'll want to add a 1/4 tsp of ground mustard, but if you don't have that, a tsp of yellow mustard from the fridge will do.

    Taste your sauce and add more cheese if you like. Drain your macaroni noodles, and mix them in with the sauce and there you have it!

    If you want creamy mac and cheese, velveeta is best, but you can try Kraft Old English instead.

    I just put some butter and a little milk in the pot while I'm draining the macaroni, then add whatever kind of cheese you want and stir it around. The hot macaroni finishes melting it.
