Raising a baby bobcat, what do you think?

Wow are they going to be in for a shock when they get fined. Your state's DNR (dept. of natural resources) is in charge of ALL wildlife in the state, anyone with a baby of any wild animal needs to get it to a wildlife rehabber so it can be raised without imprinting on people. If you try to do it yourself, and you have no permit for it, you're going to be out a lot of money.

Just phone your DNR they're in the government white pages of your phone book, and tell them where the bobcat is and they'll get a wildlife rehabber out to take care of it. You can contact your local shelter too and ask if they have a rehabber on staff.

The fines are high, well over $800. Just make the phone call and get the young kitten to someone who can feed it without it being imprinted.

Your friend needs to contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. Even if your friend has the kindest of intentions in most if not all states it is illegal to keep or obtain a wild animal without the proper licensing and or permits. Legal factors aside, fostering young wild animals is challenging. there is a problem if they are successful at returing it to the wild, it would not be afraid of humans and things like crossing the road would have been taught by its mother. You should try to find a wild animal rescue that will take it in.

And even though it would seem like a great idea to keep it as a pet, it could never be kept like a pet. It is a wild animal and should be treated as such.

It may tame some, but i doubt you will be able to train it to be anything more than a wild animal that has accepted you as being safe to be around-but it will likely never be like a cat, but then how many cats are that trainable-they basically do what they want.

convince them to give it to a bobcat reserve, or a zoo. Anything really, just try to convince them not to keep it. It came straight from the wild, so it's natural instincts will kick in wayy quicker than a more domesticated bobcat.

i think they need to talk to the local game warden he or she can get it put with someone who has raised animal like this. Wild animals can be dangerous no matter how cute they are it's best to leave it to people who know what they are doing

first of all bobcats are kinda mean...even if they're by humans all of the time they can always turn on you. if i were you i would tell them that...

The thing is, if you give it to an expert, they may just decide to put it down.
