My dog on her menstrual cycle?

My little Chiweenie is bleeding from her lady parts. She is supposed to get spayed soon (we are waiting on papers and such) Is there anything we can do for now? she's making a mess.

Update:

* A chiweenie is a mix between a chihuahua and a doxen

*We had to send the vet papers for some kind of approval

    Better late then never!

All YOU so-called dog aficianados are worse then the dog **** in your yard...No, you are the maggots growing off the dog **** in your yards!

Here, someone who genuinely loves their dog was askind a simple question. What you dog **** whores answered was uncalled for. So they have a hybrid "Chiweenie". I'm going to guess and I'm sure I'm not wrong is that all who responded with such negative comments are ******* racist, KKK loving asses!

Condeming a dog for what breed it is or the owner for even having a Chiweenie means all you negative, devil worshiping bastards have no idea what life on earth means. Are we not all "Hybrids" of some sort?

I hate to break this to you but number 1: There is no such thing as a ciweenie - Your dog is a mutt. Unfortunately some verrrrry BAD back yard breeders and puppy mills coined this stupid "hybrid" dog movement and people are still falling victim to cutsie sounding names. There are NO papers for your dog, shes a mutt - Look up the term in the dictionary. A mutt is the offspring of 2 different pure bred dogs (eg: chihuahua and doxie, 2 different pure bred dogs but not the same breed).

2nd: Shes in heat, and the worst thing you can do is let her near any intact male canines. The breeder you got her from is already an immoral back yard breeder over populating this world with future shelter animals - Don't become a person like that! The rest of the advice given is accurate - Wait a few weeks after shes done spotting and get her spayed as absolutely soon as you can.

well now that she is cycling you will have to wait another month after the bleeding stops to get her fixed. In the mean time keep a constant eye on her outside to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. a small dog like that gets hooked with a larger dog and you will be sorry.

As for what to do about the blood. they sell dog undergarments at most pet-stores. There are no papers needed to spay a dog by the way. As long as she has a rabies shot any vet would spay her.

I am unfamilair with the breed of Chiweenie, to my extensive knowledge, there is NO breed as that. You must be mistaken and mean a Chihuahua?

Her papers mean nothing in regards to her cycle...

she wont care her papers arent here?

As soon as she is over her cycle (between 1-7 days of bleeding and 2-3 weeks of cycle) you can safely get her speyed.

Please do not leave her alone, or unsupervised, and do not let her outside alone, her smell will be attracting every entire male dog within 5kms, and they will want to be the one to mate with her, and in a few days shell be more than happy to let them all!

Mating a dog such as the Chihuahua with any dog can kill her, can you imagine a boxer mating her? The size of his .... doggyness would be alone to cause horrific damage to her, and both he and she will not think of that, only thier driven need to mate.

You can buy belly bands for females, but normal diapers should do, just remember to take it off when she wishes to relieve herself.

Please do not let her breed, and spey her as soon as you can. Not only is it better for her and you, it means she will not make any more messes.

Your pet is in her heat cycle and all females will breed with any male dogs on or around the 10th day of her cycle. If you don't want a surprise litter, you should confine the dog until her season passes and that will be around 3 1/2 to 4 wks.

    WARNING SIGNS

+ calling a mutt by a designer name

+ thinks dogs have a menstrual cycle

next thing you know he dog is going to be pregnant and then after that gone

  • 1 decade ago

    1. dogs don't menstruate. That lovely slice of biological hell is reserved for us and some primates

    2. What papers could you possibly be waiting on to get her spayed?

    3. Unless its a big mess just spot clean and keep her isolated to an area that is easily cleaned like your kitchen

You can just deal with it or try putting a diaper on her. Mostly likely she wouldn't like the diaper. Just wait it out. She shouldn't bleed for that long. Maybe just a few days.

She isn't shedding her uterine lining (menstruating), but the blood leaking from the engorged capillaries while she's in season does make a mess. At pet stores you can find panties for females in season. You put pads in them and change them out as needed. It keeps the blood off the floor and furniture but is no hindrance at all to a male who wants to breed.
