Non-Catholic Christians: Do you have an Advent wreath on your dining room table or somewhere in your home?

Update:

Paul, no one knows the date that jesus was born. Dec 25 was one of the dates people celebrated in the early centuries.

Funny, I have gone to Mass on Christmas every day for the past 50 years and I have never heard Nimrod or Tamuuz mentioned.

Update 2:

Lady KK...the only God that is mentioned at Christmas Mass is Yahweh. Are you saying that He is a pagan god?

    .

There is evidence of pre-Christian Germanic peoples using wreathes with lit candles during the cold and dark December days as a sign of hope in the future warm and extended-sunlight days of Spring. In Scandinavia during Winter, lighted candles were placed around a wheel, and prayers were offered to the god of light to turn “the wheel of the earth” back toward the sun to lengthen the days and restore warmth.

Looks like another pagan tradition that the Vatican STOLE !

Dec 25 is yet another pagan feast stolen by the Vatican, - - - Modern Christmas customs include: gift-giving and merrymaking from Roman Saturnalia; greenery, lights, and charity from the Roman New Year; and Yule logs and various foods from Germanic feasts

I was raised Methodist and we frequently had an advent wreath in our home, as did the church itself.

Concerning Nimrod and Tammuz..... Why haven't you heard of them? Doesn't your church read out of the bible?

Eze 8:14 Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD'S house which [was] toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.

Gen 10:8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.

Gen 10:9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.

1Ch 1:10 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be mighty upon the earth.

Mic 5:6 And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver [us] from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.

It was a pagan celebration christianized by the Mother church. What did God tell his children the Israelites when he brought them into the promised land?

Deu 12:30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.

Deu 13:1 ¶ If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,

    Deu 13:2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;

Deu 13:3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Deu 13:4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

Deu 13:5 And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn [you] away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.

By celebrating christmas you are worshiping not God but the heathens gods
