Why does cat poop smell so bad?

All poop smells, but what you're feeding your cat can make a difference in how badly it smells. Cheap dry food that's full of grains = really stinky poop. Small rodents and birds = really stinky poop. Quality grain free wet food = much less stinky poop. Also, if your cat hasn't had a fecal sample tested for parasites I recommend it. Worms can make them more stinky too.

If we eat junk food, then junk is what will come out the other end and our poop will be stinky! It takes about 15 hours for food to completely pass through system. So, if you think about that and the temperature at which our internal organs are kept (a nice 98.7 degrees Fahrenheit for most people), then some foods will definitely start to stink after so long. If we eat foods that start to stink in a short time, then what comes out will surely stink as well!

try cleaning the litter box out? We use cat san litter and tbh once the stench from a fresh poo has gone in the air you can't smell anything, we change and clean the box every few days.

if you dont like it get a freshener and put it in the cats room doesnt everyones poop smell???

Well for one, the dogs don't poop in a litter box in the house.

Cats eat mostly meat. This is the reason human feces smells worse than, say, horse feces.

Maybe you need to ask yourself "What am i feeding it to make it smell?!" - some baking soda should help neutralize that smell.
