Why do people hate cats so much?

Because cats appear to be wiser than those people that hate them. Cats are noble and graceful. They require no training and have less health problems than dogs, they live longer too. . It's easy to see why ancient Egyptians honored them.

well, there may be some people, but them people are often ' dog people '.

cats are very independant animals and don't need as much looking after as a dog, they just need food and.. an itch whenever they feel like it. I like cats, I have two, but I can see why certain people would perfer to get a dog.

I personally just don't like most cat owners. Specificaly the ones that allow their cats to roam freely in the neighborhood. I think it's extremely irresponsible! I even had a cat walk into my bedroom via the doggy door! I'm highly allergic so it was a really big deal. I also like to let my rabbit roam on my fenced in front porch for exercise and fresh air, but due to all the cats I have to stand guard with a squirt bottle and a dog! Not only do I find these free-roaming cats a nuisance, it's so dangerous for them out there! There are dogs, cars, sick minded people... I would think if you loved your pet you wouldn't subject it to this kind of danger. I've also never really seen the appeal of owning a cat... I prefer my pets to be greatful and loving towards me. Not snub me ad only show affection when they want food.

I THINK it's because a lot of people are turned off to cats if they have one or two bad experiences with them. Because, some cats are very unfriendly, they may hiss, bite, or the famous claws!

However, the majority of cats are sweet and friendly! The boy kitties are especially fun to play with and cuddle.

I think it's mostly dog owners and they compare cats to dogs. They don't like them because they don't think they are as playful. I've never had a dog, but my cat loves to play:)

And the bipolar thing is true haha my cat will be purring one minute and then just bites me the next

just depends on the person, I have always had very caring cats and I generally prefer them over a dog, mainly because I have little experience with them. I don't hate them, it's just that I'm a bit insecure about owning one.

I think some people don't like cats because they're less sociable. They aren't as friendly and unconditionally loyal as dogs. I personally love cats...and so do a lot of other people.

people just think of them as mean. they scratch, yes. theyre not AS playful and people friendly as dogs, but some can still be friendly.

they bite, yes. and theyre just..not as people friendly as dogs, i presume. and people loved to be loved by animals xD (not all, but a lot of people do)
