Weight bearing after surgery for broken fibula?

I had open reduction and internal fixation of a broken fibula 2 weeks ago and saw ortho surgeon today. X-ray films today didn't show up anything remarkable and she still doesn't want me to put any weight on it for another 4 weeks. I haven't had any pain and can actually stand without support. Shouldn't I start at least partial weight bearing if there's no discomfort??

No, listen to your surgeon. The bone is still healing. 2 weeks is nothing, you can fracture it again. You already went trough the surgery, you put weight before 6 weeks and the hardware will be displaced, creating a deformity and another surgery.
