Why is my screen resolution wrong on the internet?

My screen resolution on the internet has gone wappy - everything is in big print and Yahoo gives me an error message about screen resolution but when I look in control panel it says the resolution is correct. The resolution is wrong only on the internet and not in other software. It started when Java did an update yesterday. How do I put it right - it is driving me nuts as I need to use the internet for work.

Update:

Aha yes it works - I don't need the monitor two miles away anymore - thanks for the tip.

If using Internet Explorer then press Control (Ctrl) and the number 0 on your keyboard this will reset the browsers "zoom" back to 100% which is the default size.

If using firefox, open the Options, click on the Content tab, there you can adjust the font size.

Alternatively if you have a scroll mouse use the Ctrl button on the keyboard and scroll the wheel on the mouse to increase or decrease the font sizes (this works for almost all the browsers)

Try holding "CTRL" and move your mousewheel. That should reduce the size of things
