Should old poor people be forced to take a 'Patriotism Class'?
Maybe then they'll quit whining about having worked for 50 years and being forced to pay toward a system that was designed to assist them when they stopped working. Except then they'll want free doughnuts and coffee at the classes... never satisfied. They could be charged for the class and the money could go toward the tax breaks for the oil companies! Everybody wins, as long as we give them old stale doughnuts.
@Miles: That's the spirit my good man! What the patriots of America really need to do is attack the one group left that can't defend themselves! (Ok, the poor Mexicans are still a good target. But they're mostly devout Catholics and not as much fun to torment.) The namby pamby liberals have given women, blacks, and gays so many rights they can't be stopped... it's time to declare war on old poor people! It's the American way.
@MikeGolf: exactly, the Bush tax cuts added up to what... pennies. These poor kids from wealthy families don't even know what it's like to live the American dream. And the tax breaks for oil companies, pssst. Talk to me when they break a profit, if that ever happens.
I can't chose a best answer if these are the only two choices.

According to Biden the more taxes you pay the more patriotic you are.
BTW - the only group I see that is not allowed to defend themselves are the taxpayers.
Edit: The thing you have to remember about any tax cut is that the people who benefit the most will always be those who pay the most taxes. This is why the 'poor' only got pennies despite Bush cutting their tax rate by 50% while the 'rich' saved tens of thousands off of a 3% tax cut.
And statistics demonstrate that the primary advantage children from higher income families get vs. children from lower-income families is an emphasis on educational achievement. Rich family or poor - the future lifetime earnings of a child can be fairly fairly accurately predicted by their high school GPA.
And as for the 'tax breaks' for the oil companies. Can you name _one_ tax break the oil companies get that are not also afforded to other industries? Care to explain why Exxon-Mobil should be denied a particular tax break - but GE and GM be granted it?

Just by being older we, can get free dough-nuts!!
If you want everyone to be a winner do us a favor and put yourself out of our misery!! The world will be a better place and it's free dough-nuts for everyone!!!
